Push forward on the wire going in the backside of the plug, then slide your "pointy object" into the hole on the front of the plug that corresponds to that particular wire. What you are trying to do is depress a small tab that keeps those wires from being accidentally pulled out of the plug.
I guess if all else fails, you can always just cut the yellow and pink wires and solder the yellow to the pink and vice-versa.
Yeah. Just cut the yellow and pink wires and switch 'em up. That would accomplish the same thing as switching the wires inside the plug, it just wouldn't look as neat.
