Your Opinions On Dec. 21st 2012

It is unfortunate that the writer uses Biblical references in his research. It is not particularly troublesome to me, but many will immediately dismiss it for that reason. Especially the hard core academicians....

In my years on this planet, I've seen too many of these kinds of things to take any of them too seriously.... My doomsday could come in the form of a massive heart attack in the next 5 seconds... Or, my doomsday could even be a "cracked out" ice cream truck driver.... who knows...?

There've been so many doomsday dates and prophets it gets a bit old.... It's much like Christians who claim that Jesus is coming at one specific time or another.... Some bonehead wrote "88 reason why Christ is coming in 1988"... He did not offer a sequel...

My philosophy is, "If we're gonna have a cataclysm, lets have it and move on......"

I'm having a good slice of pizza and my second cuppa coffee....... Cheers...!

I'm hoping it's going to be just another Y2K type thing. But we won't know for sure till the time has come and gone. I'm not going to worry about it too much.

How about if the world plans on ending it better do it sooner than that, I would not have enough money to stay retired till 2012...I was thinking more like february 3rd 2009, that way we can get in 2 more superbowls and national championships.

Funny thing is, I've heard some hard core legalists say, "Well, just because we don't know the day or the hour, that doesn't neccesarily mean that we can't know the month and the year....."

It's all pure speculation... If ya really wanna get Biblical about it, here's one (that) you can place under your pillow tonight. The Bible says that we're not supposed to worry about such things, nor give any place to fears about what will occur in the future... Let tomorrow take care of tomorrow...

Think the Discovery channel had a show last week on Nostradamus and his recently found writings that referenced 2012 as the end of the world as well.

If you dwelve into it deep you will find basically it is just the end of the Myan calander, but what finds it intriguing is that many other cultures also use the same date as the end of their time also, it also has been calculated that the poles will swap, that the earth may go thru a substantial change due to climate ( global warming?) that we may go thru another ice age, ( it is scientifict fact that this has allready happened times before)
People do use the bible as a reference it is not readily a good source, the bible is basically a history of our past and not a look into the future, jsut spiritual rightings of happenings of the times.
It also has been rumored that a catastrophe on a global level may happen, such as a solar flare, plate shifting, possibly yellowstone.
the bottom line is the earth has been quiet too long of any major catastrophies, the earth lives and breaths and is alive,, and we all know things work in cycles, is it almost time again?



could go alot deeper, but it would really cause another pissin match witht he holyier than thou people and I'm just not up to that today, maybe tommorrow;)

But here's a thought. Mayan calendar ends Dec. 21st 2012. [SIZE=-1]Naustrodamus says that's the end of time too. I think the Bible says that the next cleansing of the Earth will be by fire. Possibly the Earth will switch poles (a scientific fact) which will throw off the magnetic field that protects us from the Suns radiation and we will all get cooked. We're gonna need some real strong sunblock.:cool:[/SIZE]
