Toyota Stands behind their cars

Once again I think Toyota is setting a new benchmark in trying to rectify issues with their products...no other car manufacturer has come anywhere close to taking the actions that Toyota has taken so far.

I applaud the actions of Toyota, and I think when the full story is told it will put American vehicle manufacturers deep in the shadows. Or, maybe our American manufacturing sector will step up and try to out do the Toyota example...I hope so.

A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

If the pedal is sticking as Toyota says, then why are there reports of cars accellorating to 100 mph. The cars would not gain speed if pedal was stuck in one position. I doubt all these drivers floored the pedal before the problem occured. Why not reflash the computor and command the throttle to release to idle if the brake pedal is applied.

It is a plot by the govt....GM (Govt Motors) is using the CIA to sabatage Toyota cars. The administrations plan is to eleminate the competion. They will then abolish taxes but the price you pay for a car will be based on your income...it's true!!...

reminds me of how they explained communism in grade school.
