Venomous snakes usually will warn you beforehand, Diamondbacks and rattlers... The other vipers seem to be unwilling to bite unless you step on them....
There is one exception..... The fkn Cottonmouth... I've heard that they're just plain mean and will bite just cuz they have a badass attitude... I don't have any experience with them myself... But my southeastern friends say that the cottonmouth has the worse reputation of all..... Plus they spend alotta time in the water where they go virtually unnoticed until they strike....
Someone with more direct experience with cottonmouths chime in...

I get checked in and seen, and the (I forget job title - it wasn't an MD) says I've got an alergic reaction to some sort of vine/plant/leaf. I've been around lots of herbs and shubbery in my short life, and do not recall being alergic to ANY of it! (HAHA!) As stated, the doctor insists that I've got an alergic reaction to something.
As Jim (VIPER PWR) noticed, I've got some other red spots on my leg, as well as my arms. Those spots only itch ever so slightly. It's not like I feel the dire need to scratch them. He says it's unlikely that I coinsedently aquired (4) BRS bites, AND an alergic reaction at the same time. He assumes it's all the same.
However he didn't totally rule-out the possibility of it being a BRS bite. Some chick gave me a shot of 'roids in the ass, and I have more 'roids to pic up tomorrow. If this doesn't affect in a few days, I've got anti-biotics I can pick up.
THEN, if neither of these prescriptions knock it out, or if shows to get worse as opposed to get better or show signs of getting better. THEN we'll assume is BRS bite. According to him there isn't an "anti-venom". The shit will have to be cut out.
As of right now. There is visible/physical difference than the pics I posted early this AM.

Based on your pictures and your story, this is most likely not the result of a Brown Recluse bite, and certainly not that of a Black Widow. It looks like you have cellulitis. It could be the result of any type insect bite, or anything else that would allow a portal of entry for bacteria to get into your skin. You should be on some Bactrim or Doxycycline, as these cover MRSA, which has become very prevelant in the community. You should also be doing hot water soaks of the affected areas. If you can't soak it, put a hot wash rag on it. Good Luck.
