In the paper a few days ago, a guy here just got a ticket for doing 122km/h in a 30km/h school zone. Had to pay well over 2 grand for fines, impound and towing fees. Not to mention penalties with existing insurance and points on his license.

He was 25.

I can only imagine the terror the parents must have felt when seeing this car rip along the street during the beginning of lunch hour for the little ones. It's just beyond stupidity.

Glad no one was hurt. It's things like that which keep us all aware of what we get careless toward, thinking it wouldn't happen to any of us.

Accelerating up to the posted speed limits is enough fun for me.
But anything involving children, parks, malls, etc is just not a place to be doing this.

It's shit like this that makes it tougher for people under 25 to hold a license all the while making the rest of us who are paying up the ass in premiums, just to drive.

100%, we all have fun every now and again, that is why we have these trucks (well, for the most part)...... but neighborhoods, schools and shit like that is purely OFF LIMITS. This douche bag is making us all look bad. I have my CDL and drive my drill rig and semis for friends and family in the off season when it is harvest time. any tickets will hurt my lively hood and the livelyhood of my family. it is just not worth it. i have not gotten a speeding ticket in like 11 years, and i had a crotch rocket for 3.5 years up until last year or so.

good thread to remind the weak minded, there is a place and time for everything

The only way I would race in a school zone is if the bus driver gives me a bunch of shit.

the only way i would race in a school zone would be to impress a hot teacher. wasup. or too escape the popo. cuz i will hit a kid in public if they mess with me::viking:

10 or so years ago a 5 year old was killed in a cross-walk by a speeding driver in a school zone, near where I lived. The kid's mom was calling to him to cross the street by himself, neither of them saw the teenager coming at 80+kph in a 30kph zone. The lad in the cross-walk didn't have a chance. Very sad.:(

sucks, two families live were probably ruined on that one.

And can you imagine how that mother feels. she will proly never forgive herself. that is just a horrible thing, very sad:(

Something she will live with for the rest of her life. And to what the rest of that life would be... Nothing the same, food tasting different, holidays not meaning anything... the character in which they become... traumatized, not to mention how far the tears go. A bad taste in your mouth that never turns sweet.

Same goes to the teen's conscience, if any. His life will be forever haunted by that day. Imagine that... you come into this world care free, and you live in a good family home, and something like that happens... completely taking out the bliss, the whole picture of what life is about in an instant, and you grow mature and all responsibilities and actions from then on, make a new path with that life... despite it not being in that direction from the start... forcibly against the will of their curiosity, and lack thereof within a new world of their own that is that of another.

So many people know so much pain.

I've heard some pretty twisted things regarding death. I can't even fathom how anyone handles that kind of emotional torment until the eyelids lay heavy.
