I'm currently deployed and before leaving I decided to leave my truck in my garage for the duration of my deployment. This isn't the first time I've done this (previous deployment of 4 months I left my former car and truck the entire time, had no issues). I made sure I left it with minimal gas in the tank and had the oil changed a couple of weeks before I left (it was due). I also removed the battery. My wife decided to back to Florida until January and I was just paranoid about leaving it on a charger and no one being there. When she gets back I'm leaning towards having AAA drop by and throw a battery in it for her and starting it up and then having her run it regularly. Is there anything else with these trucks that I should be on the lookout for when leaving sitting for an extended period? Prior to leaving it was in the shop for 2 weeks getting some stuff buttoned up, including fixing a rear diff seal leak, so leak-wise, all known leaks were fixed prior to storage. Thanks!

You should be good bro...I would like you said just have your wife drive it around town and stuff that way your tires dont get any flat spots from sitting for a long period of time unless you have it up lifted on jackstands just enough to clear the tires off the ground

Yeah I didn't even think to do that. I procrastinated and rushed to store it the morning of the day I left lol. It barely fit. I had to put it in neutral and slowly push it into the garage and nudge it up against the wall, which I placed a thick blanket on so the bumper wouldn't get scratched. Just cleared the garage door by a few inches.

It'll be just fine, mine sits 7 months every winter. I wouldn't worry too much, flat spots will come out after a few rotations. Only thing i do differently is i do put jack stands under it and i put a full tank of fuel in it to prevent any room for moisture.

Just pull your IOD (ignition off draw) Fuse. Then you wont have to worry about the battery being drained.

I add fuel stabilizer and top it up with fuel, plug the battery tender in and let it sit from Nov till April every year and never had a problem,it sits in a heated garage also and gets run in between a few times!

Good info, thanks. Once my wife gets back in January I'll figure out a way to get a battery to it and have the wife drive it and fill it up.
