Over the last few years I've added a few bolt on parts and put the truck on the dyno and these are the results.

Dyno Jet- Elevation 3300 ft.- Temp 80-26.78 in-Hg- Humidity 19
    Temp 79-26.93 in-Hg- Humidity 31
    Temp 67-28.43 in-Hg- Humidity 47

    Stock:

    1st run: 426.0 rwhp/ 443.8 torq.
    2nd run: 429.3 rwhp/ 464.5 torq.
    3rd run: 440.2 rwhp/ 491.5 torq. with a tune

Added a BBK from JTS and CAI from JBM and MagnaFlow W/ stock cats.

    1st run: 434.41 rwhp/ 474.54 torq.
    2nd run: 446.00 rwhp/ 485.46 torq.

Added JMB Midpipes W/ High Flow cats.

    1st run: 447.13 rwhp/ 485.89 torq.
    2nd run: 454.95 rwhp/ 492.19 torq.

After spunning a rod bearing this summer I decided to forge the motor and put in the 710 cam. Only to make the motor stronger or ready for a S/C someday. Just the sound of the 710 cam was worth all my trouble, well all most.

The dyno run was the 4th run with a heat soaked motor.

    4th run: 493.09 rwhp/ 494.90 torq.

Sean said I need to free up my 2 1/2 bottlenext in my JMB Midpipes and MagnaFlow exhaust and my stock manifolds are holding back HP. But still the truck really pulls on top end.:D

I can e-mail the dyno sheet to anyone that can post it for me.

    Thanks
    NVR2OLD

At what power level does Sean think a 2.5" exh. becomes a bottle neck on these engines?

Stock! I have a custom true dual equal length X-pipe Twin Borla race mufflers catless exhaust, that I gained 35 ftlbs over the race cats and Magnaflow. My engine is pure stock internally (block, heads , cam, compression).....my mods include ported intake, JTS Venom TB, full length headers, underdrive pulley and a Chris Jensen tune. I'm at 510 rwhp and 541 ftlbs on a Dynojet spinning the stock 22's with 325-40-22 tires.

The 710 cam does like more compression and would help the HP alot, but we only have 91 octane here. I had a friend clean up the heads, but not ported.

Your gains with the changes listed, look completely normal.

The "710" performance camshaft has a late(r) closing intake so it will reduce low r.p.m. cylinder pressure until it phases at a higher r.p.m. and produces the top-end pull you are describing.. You could create more useable torque for your truck by increasing the compression ratio and/or advancing the camshaft.

I don't know! Sean said this cam loves timing and a free flowing exhaust.

I also e-mailed the dyno comparison sheet to ARRESTmeRed04 to post for me. Thanks Justin!

You will see the 710 cam lost some torque down low but I feel it really didn't hurt the truck that much and it makes it up big time on the top end.

Kinda what I tried explaining to y'all about these "Coupe" cams versus one designed for a 5500lb truck. TORQUE moves these beasts!! Kill low end torque and a stock cam truck will likely eat your lunch! Torque will get him off the line and ahead of you while you can slowly play catchup with your Horsepower ;)
    Oh Ironhead...

A stock cam truck will likely eat your lunch! I don't think so!:D It still spins the tires down low hard, but not as much and by than I'm on the cam eating your lunch.:D:D:D

I love the sound the cam makes due to the overlap and wasted gas idling and cruising, but it just makes less fun on the street. A flat torque band will outshine a peaky torque band everywhere except top speed and the Dyno!
I'd love to hear your track results as well. I'm not being defensive about you cam selection, rather adding information for future and current readers/members so they get a better understand of camshaft choices and effects.

No problem and all in fun! I respect your choice cam. The dyno comparison sheet will show what cam dose and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Eat my a**hole ,till u ride in one with a 710 or run one with a 710 cam your talking out your butt again, stick to your stock cam and quit putting the Roe cam down till u try it ,you have no basis for your comments other than you just want to bash my truck ,give it up till you ride with me once;)
