I have written about the heating problem I have had here in Texas, running at 75 mph at 97-101 degrees outside I had to slow down or turn on the heater for a short distance to get the temp below 200. Well, I used the ingenuity that made Texas so great in the job creation category and installed the fans seen below. I know the hatred of added weight but 3 pounds verses the chance of scorching the engine was no trade out at all. I also realize I could slow down but that would be defeating the whole reason for buying my beast in the first place. :D

Awesome. I need to do that also, this South Carolina sweatbox weather is not good for any engine. Where did you get the fans?

Did you just hook them to a switch? My truck is always right at 200 degrees. sometimes goes over when im stuck at a red light with A/C on. Just figured its normal when its 115 out.

never had any issue with truck getting to hot while i lived in tx so dont know granted i had a 170 stat with tune. but never an issue.

Here’s the deal. At 80 mph with it 100 outside my oil goes to 210 and water to 203ish. At something like $24K for a new factory motor (I’m told) I just figured it was cheaper than an $850 radiator. I got the 24K and gonna get another 10 but have to get the bride a Bentley first.---used of course.

You know, those temperatures are totaly normal? An all aluminum engine likes to run at 200 deg. This is why the facory tune falls over rich up top to keep the combustion chamber cool, even though the block is warm.
Are your grill block offs in?!? The right side scoop into the fender helps outside air flow through your oil cooler. Not that 210 for oil is bad, but it could be cooler.
Also, what is your coolant mix? Ethylene (or Polyethylene) Glycol mixed 50/50 actually hampers the coolants ability to dissipate heat. Increase your water % and add water wetter or a similar product.
Finaly, that pusher fan set up may just impede airflow at highway speeds.
Cheers!

Here in Florida, my water temp has never gone past 200. Even while sitting in traffic and its 105 degrees out with 90% humidity.

Same with oil temp. Never fluctuates really.

Here in the 110-115 heat of the great ol Gulf Coast in stop and go traffic my water may creep a hair past 200 every now and then with the windows up and the A/C on full blast but when the fans come on she goes back to normal real quick. Most of the time I cruise with the windows down and it'll stop short of 200 mark by a click or too.

Oil temp is always a solid 185-195 depending on how many stops I make and how hard I'm driving. If I'm feeling spirited it'll tick up to 200.
