I picked up a 04 ram last summer with about 9000 miles on it, it had been previously repaired and lowered and I wasn't happy with the work that had been done so I had a decision to make. I tend to like my vehicles more on the custom side and i didn't want to spend a small fortune to re-lower it properly.
The coils were cut with a torch and the rear bottomed out on anything bigger than a pebble. If a bump was hit at any speed over 50 it would bump steer really bad and shoot you into the next lane.

The paint job had some issues as well, what was still factory was decent but what was painted was pretty rough.

I couldn't live with either of the issues and didn't want to spend a small fortune to basically re-build the same truck so I decided to take it in a different direction.

I've been working on it for a few months and haven't posted any project pictures until this weekend and decided I should post some pics in here.

I've been occasionally browsing but haven't posted much.

Anyways, I'll post some pictures up, let me know what you think.

Now on to some of the modifications..

In this first pic you can see the damaged rail from before, discovered in the tear down. I ended up ordering a new rail and putting it in.

I stripped the hood and doors, ordered new OE fenders to replace the aftermarket ones, as you can see in this pic most of the parts had little to no damage but wanted to get their bad paint job off so I could start from scratch and know what I really had.

    Was glad when this arrived.
Had all of this made by a company called Michigan Metal Works, he made them with a narrower track width to clear the fenders and this allowed me to keep the factory wheels. And now with the parts I was really able to get some stuff done.

Originally mounted the rear bars on the outside of the axle but I didn't have enough room because I am going to narrow the axle a bit.. So we moved them to the inside of the frame rails.

Also made new mounts for the Watts link.

Worked pretty much straight through the holiday weekend to get this suspension mocked up, So i'm glad we got it this far.

There is a lot of fine tuning to get it finished but I feel I'm off to a good start now.

Here are some pictures of it outside, I needed to see it from a little farther away.
