To answer both of you're questions.. No it's not Mineral Grey, it is fairly similar though, I forgot what code I went with I had like 12 that I was trying to decide between.

And the reason I went with something simple is that for the most part on this truck I want it to appear fairly stock, I don't want something I am going to get harassed with or something that will draw attention from a loud paint job.

I also have had quite a few vehicles with either custom paint jobs or a bright color and I tend to get a little tired of them quicker..
Also a big part of my business is paint sales and I mix a lot of different colors and have made a lot of custom colors for people and after seeing and working with so many different colors I wanted something really basic, and easy to fix if something happens, I plan to drive this a lot more than my last truck so things could happen..

NOW with all of that being said, I stopped by a shop last week and they had a jeep in there with a really bright blue,, something similar to ford Grabber blue and it has really been tempting me.. But then I'm back to a loud attention grabbing color, and I just don't want to get tired of it.. I have two gallons of the color mixed up now and I keep thinking about that blue.. So you never know with me, things may change.. lol.

I love the grabber blue. I am also doing a build with some custom work and I will be using grabber blue as my color of choice. Looking forward to seeing the progress on your truck. Love the custom work man.

Will do,, never looked at the registry, will have to check it out,, wonder if it has ever been registered.

Only have about 2,000 of the 10,000 registered... So the odds are not very good LOL

Don't talk like that, it's going to make me want to change the color.. lol.

Thanks to ViperJeff I now have some pictures of truck before it was previously repaired, which answered a few questions I had about the wreck. The damage was much less than I was expecting and this makes me feel more confident in the fact that all the un repaired damage will now be fixed, I was not sure of a few things and this really answers my questions..

Now here's some pics,, and thanks Jeff!!

I still feel terrible

Even though blue is my favorite color I think gunmetal is the better choice. Why make it look like a Ford truck thats all over the place?

I still feel terrible

Lol.. why?
I knew it was wrecked..
And it's not as bad as I expected.

Plus there is nothing that will be non repaired or customized.

Being I have a shop and fix cars this doesn't bother me a bit. I've fixed much worse.

The only reason it was totalled was due to the frame damage, it's all a matter of cost vs value, I've seen vehicles get totaled for $1000.00 in repair before.. Heck I had a spotless Cavalier one time that had 60k miles on it, it was a wreck I fixed for myself to drive around, I got into a fender bender, it needed a bumper and a fender and a condensor, they totaled it, I bought $200.00 in parts and it was as good as it was before the first wreck.

If you look at the truck you will notice the doors were not even touched, which was one of the things that was confusing me, you would think with a salvage title the doors would have been destroyed, but it was all frontal..

You also have to consider the high cost of parts just because it is a SRT, my cost on the cooling fan assembly is like $900.00 add a SRT frame and a little labor, this is a expensive repair.

I worked a shop one time that replaced frames on nearly new trucks all the time from collision damage, it wasn't a big deal but if the truck was over 3-4 years old it would get totaled, same damage on one truck to the next, but one gets a salvage title and one doesn't because it has more value..

If this same damage was done to this truck right off the lot it would be considered acceptable to repair, but since it's older and the value isn't the same people get weird about it. I'm sure a lot of you are driving SRT's that were once damaged in a accident, some may not even know. As long as it is fixed properly what difference does it make.

Think about this, after I am done customizing this truck and cutting into the frame and doing what I am doing to it, the cost to bring the truck back to stock would be enough to total it as well. You would have to buy yet another frame, new front rails since I cut them up,a axle since I cut the mounts off, a complete firewall, which probably isn't even available.
But because the insurance wasn't involved it's not even thought about.

If that guy wrecked this truck and didn't notify his insurance it would still have a clean title as well. I do however know exactly what I have as I'm rebuilding the whole truck.

Carry on: :chain:

And one more thing to consider, if this truck wasn't previously wrecked I wouldn't have purchased it, with the low miles it would have been out of my price range.

I was looking at 09+ R/T's and while searching this truck popped up a lot cheaper than anything else I was looking for, the guy was also fairly negotiable, I then started looking at these with clean titles just to compare cost's and with low miles these trucks are getting top dollar. I also had to consider the custom work I was going to get into, I really wanted a low mile truck if I was going to put all of this work into it. I also don't think the salvage title will hurt me that much considering it's a complete custom, sometimes custom work that can mess with the value of vehicles as well, but instead of taking the value out of a clean title truck it was already pre-calculated in with the salvage title. So now if I ever go to sell it I will most likely be able to get my investment back out of it.. Which is really hard to do when putting this kind of money into a vehicle. I like the truck a lot more than expected though so I am most likely going to keep it now.. It's just to much fun.

A used jtsvp gen1, usually around $200 or a new gen2, $400+, either one is a huge improvement, I love my gen1.

Your correct the stock shifter is total junk! Spend the money and buy the jtsvp gen2. It's worth every penny for sure.

I wish there was someone local to me to check one out, just not sure I wanna spend the money to go from my B&M to that

At least I'm not the only one that feels this way, it just seems really sloppy! I'll probably give the Gen 2 a go.. Money going to many directions with this thing at the moment but if I ever sell a Harley I'm ordering everything so planning ahead.. AKA.. Spending my money before I have it.. lol.
