On the ford forums the shelby boys have already called BS and want a video. I remember reading about an engineer saying this motor had to be detuned to meet emissions but is capable of more power.
Basically instead of the 707 hp they've had it making as much as 800 before choking it down for emission, warranty blah blah.
The hellcat motor is no joke, they'd drop it in the Viper if it would fit. It will fit a ram.....
Hellcat Ram anybody? To bad Ralph said they dont plan on making a srt truck in the current future. HOPE that changes.
I read through that on the SVT forum too. I remember reading on a Chally forum where one guy claimed he saw factory engineers running 10.2's on slicks and 10.5's on streets. Claimed that they kept breaking parts and just kept detuning until they stopped breaking. Guys called BS so he basically quit posting.
Cant beat brute HP and TQ.
Nice job SRT! That's a hell of a statement. A little faster and it will keep up with liter bikes.
That's bad to the bone. There has to be video somewhere.
I read race fuel was used. Unsure why since the stock tune should make the most power with 93 octane. Hopefully no spray was used. Either way, bad ass. Haters gonna hate.
Hopefully they dont keep breaking drive shafts with sticky tires. I'm sure the aftermarket will remedy that though.
They claim they have video, but I haven't seen it yet.
That's the only thing that makes sense to me. However, i dont see a company releasing a vehicle like that with the computer having a high octane tune. I only see the typical knock sensors used to kill timing in case of low grade fuel.I'd think the car would notice the increase in Octane and allow for more timing and boost?
I am thinking that I'll buy a drum of 109 to keep in the garage since I don't plan on driving it much anyway. Anyone have a link to the tires I need to buy?if caveman would just get off his ass, pick up his car, drive somewhere out of the damn mountains, and post a video and a slip, we'd know for ourselves...
not sure what the holdup is WADR...
