It's an extremely simple job ... EXCEPT getting to the outermost bolt to remove the headlight assembly. With our bumper covers, it is not easy, even with decent extensions. if I had an extra set of hands, it would have helped, certainly.

I made sure to cover the bumper with a microfiber towel and press down on bumper cover in order to get socket in there to access the bolt. Going back in was difficult too b/c the bolt in the socket succumbs to gravity and is thus very hard to line up (bolt hole is a good 6" behind the bumper cover).

A 5 min job took 20 mins. oh well.

What I should have done was replace the headlight bulb as well while I was in there. :p

Did you take out the plug in the wheel well liner and go through that hole? I am replacing my whole headlights with the Night Runner type headlights and will have to do this soon. I might just take off front bumper again since I have other stuff to do as well, and maybe the wheel wells too.

I found a 6" extension from my ratcheting screw driver worked really well. I did push down on the cover just to be sure, but it wasn't too bad.

I'm going to get a 10-12" extension for the next time I have to do the job. Would have made it much easier. Regardless, its a tight fit, I think (which isn't a bad thing, of course, from a fit/finish standpoint).

Chewy... I did not take out the wheel well liners... no real reason to do that, I don't believe.

That hole in the wheel well liner for headlight removal is 06 only. On the 04/05 models the three bolts are on the front of the lamp.

You got to make it happen. The truck won't fix it's self.
Told this to many a frustrated technician.
