    Hello All,

I have yet to see where the "leak" is coming from, but last night I was in the left-hand turn lane driving home, high speed fan kicked on, went to turn and it made an awful noise. I pulled over, checked the PS reservoir, and it was basically empty. I noticed ATF fluid on the passenger side air dam tray...

I had the PS lines installed about a month and a half ago - haven't had any issues until now. Has anyone experienced any problems? I'm assuming it's the connections at the fan, as the one at the pump and on the rack look good...

Looking to get the truck into a mechanic so we can get it up on a lift today or tomorrow.

    Thank you for any/all input!

    Kyle

I made up my own HP lines long before JTSVP offered them. However, both use the same fittings and I've never had an issue. Those types of fittings are used because they are so reliable. Dodge uses the quick connect fittings for faster, easier installation during assembly. All they care is they last 36K miles...

Thanks, Chuck! I'm hoping we get it up on the lift, and something just came lose. Like I said, I haven't had problems until now, and didn't intend on having any - these lines are too nice.

I should also note, I haven't had ANY issues with temps creeping up, so I'd be surprised if it is the pump... who knows.

Just an update - got it up on the lift, and one of the PS line fittings going to the fan is leaking really bad. Going to replaced the washer and o-ring, and hopefully it will be good to go.

Yes, I had some new hoses built at a local hose shop (using the o.e.m. ends) as it was a nightmare trying to stop the leaks from the "Lifetime"power steering hoses. Not to mention the incredible stink and mess it caused underneath the truck. And, oh yeah, NO STEERING assist at one point.

It is NOT reasonable to expect a flat washer with a rubber insert to hold back 1500+ p.s.i. between the line fitting and the flat surface of the fan motor. The o.e.m. fitting in that connection point is properly designed and doesn't leak.

And before those that haven't had issues with theirs leaking chime in, that's my experience with the braided lifetime power steering lines.

It would have been great had they been installed and just worked with no leaks.

Haters = those who have had a bad experience with either Tony or said company

Now that I think about it. Every single vendor that has been on this site has people in the above said group.

    Funny stuff Tony!

Re-read the last (2) sentences of my post.

That experience was YEARS ago for me. Someone asked, so I responded with what happened when I tried your lines, as bad an experience as it was.

I didn't mention you by name and of course if you harbor some left over paranoia/resentment, I guess that's up to you.

I remember talking to you on the phone when you were designing these lines and I'm glad you listened to me when I told you that the 1000 p.s.i. lines you wanted to use would not be good enough; you did get that part right.

The washer was replaced, and everything has been good *fingers crossed.* Quick question - should there be significant feedback in the steering wheel at low speeds, once the high speed fan turns on??
