So I was driving down Dorchester Rd in North Charleston today, and there was an Orange Charger cruising next to me. We pulled up to the light, and I could tell he wanted a challenge. Light turns green and off we go. I had him almost two lengths behind me for about 4 or 5 seconds, and then I heard the Super Charger whine. He pulled ahead of me pretty good, and that's when I realized it wasn't a standard Charger with the ScatPack. We pulled up to the next light, and talked. He was surprised I was able to get him off the line, but knew what he was racing against. It was fun, but I think I need to add a few more ponys under the hood.

These trucks are a blast to drive but you sure will need a few (hundred) ponies to keep up with a Hellcat. I bought my first Hellcat last year, 2019 Redeye, and they run REAL strong bone stock.

Turbos always seem to win out in the end. Pretty cool to hear you got him off the line though, by to car lengths even.

Yeah, I was pleased at what the truck did. Torque has it's privilege's in some instances. I have to say though, the Hemi is King when it comes to horsepower. I'll be on the lookout for another hemi as a daily driver. Once I do, the SRT 10 will be getting upgrades :)

I have surprised quit a few cars with mine...a 2002 Camaro Special Edition..the red with twin silver stripes challenged me..was no problem. Then a Subaru STI AWD turbo, we stayed dead even the whole time....and one of those supercharged little Toyota pickups, was a non issue.....
Mine surprises a lot of folks. Other full size trucks and diesels are no challenge at all. I have a RedEye, and my SC SRT10 does not have a chance against it though, you have to leave soft with it otherwise it will just spin the wheels. Physics says the RedEye will always win, 800hp at 4500lbs vs 700hp at 5500lbs.

My favorite KILL List when I had my RC:

-Any Hardly Ableson Ive come across.
-1988 Honda Hurricane 1000cc. From a roll at freeway speed. Guy tapped the shifter and could not catch up.
-2007 Audi S8 from a roll at freeway speed. I just kept going away.
    -C6 LS2 Corvette. 1/4 mile and from a roll up to 150+
-2009 Pontiac G8 GXP LS3. Father and son got onto freeway on ramp behind me. We both hit it and the RC pulled about two school bus lengths by the top of third gear. I extended the gap and the GXP never closed until I let out of it at 150+. The GXP is governor limited to 146 according to Car and Driver.
-2010 Camaro SS 6.2L. Freeway roll, let him jump out front. Reeled it in and went around em'.
-2017 Charger Scat Pack 392. From a dig and a freeway roll up to over 130 mph. That's where his aero allowed him to catch up. This was my buddy's car. He talked ALOT of smack after he bought it. After that Sunday morning, he NEVER said another word. All he had was RESPECT for the Superbeast. :D
I did a third gear hit from around 50 MPH once with a Hellcat Challenger. To my surprise, we were neck to neck till i revved out third. Then we had to brake for a roundabout. Cool stuff! My buddy in the Charger was behind us. He too was surprised!! At least I have a witness! ;)

Something to be said for the wide swath of torque that the viper engine can produce.

    Cheers!

Do you regret selling the truck? Or did you get another one?

It is bitter / sweet. Over time, it was becoming more stressful to own. To keep it maintained to perfection, clean as I expected it to be, paranoid that anything would happen to it down to even a window chip. I did not like that parts are getting rare and even if the cam shaft sensor would fail you are SOL. So with everything in PERFECT working order and a fresh battery and it passing emissions, I knew it was time to let someone else enjoy it. Plus, I was able to drive it, enjoy it for over 8 years and sell it for 8K more than I paid for it. It was a good (great) ride and a win/win.

No, would not buy another one. If I needed a truck, a RAM Cummins would be the ticket. However, I am keeping an eye out for a gently used Challenger Scat Pack wide body or even the mentioned Hellcat. But I would want the wide body. Something about having upgraded brakes and 305's at all four corners appeals to me, ya know?!? ;)

    Cheers!

Totally respect your decision. As for me, I got mine in May 2019, so it's basically brand new to me, it's the most powerful vehicle I've ever owned. I've owned 9 either Trans Am or Firebirds, and I thought they had spunk, but they don't hold a candle to the SRT, unless they are built. My favorite was my 75 TA with Shaker Hood, Muncey 4 speed, and 3:73 posi. I could get 58 mph in first gear alone. I was bummed out when Pontiac stopped production.
