Last week I was heading home from work, must of been around 8pm when I got on I-5 just out of Seattle and heading south toward home.

About ten minutes later I spotted this really nice black Hemi Challenger R/T with stripes in the next lane doing about 70 mph. So I pulled the SRT-10 next to him and let him check out my ride.

Well something must of triggered him and he quickly took off..doing about 80. Big deal I thought.

So I let him get about a mile ahead and I shifted it up into 5th gear and took off after this guy.

He was following in traffic back to about 70 when I passed him doing 80 and waved bye-bye with some Creedence blasting away in my speakers.

Well that triggered him again and he pulled over into my lane and started following in my wake.

I changed a few lanes passing slow pokes and punched it up to 85-90 and he continued his pursuit..but at no avail.

About a mile later he exited off and smiling...whoever you were..thanks for the rush.

Makes you feel young again. I have been trying to go really fast to see if I can be a teenager again....alas it has not worked. BUT I will keep trying!! LOL:D

Been a few years now but I was heading home after work and headed west on Hwy 18 from Auburn, WA and quickly looked ahead..no traffic...shoved it into fifth gear going uphill and topped 130 mph when I reached the top with power still to spare..speed limit was 60. But my big mistake as telling the wife the next day...she was worse than some cop....

Oh boy another racing story to tell...

Last week one morning I was heading to work while driving the Silver Bullet...when about half way on I-5...a Ford Raptor with Oregon plates pulled up next to me while in the fast lane...he kept pace for a short time and kept glancing over at my ride. Well finally he takes off...so I let him get ahead to let him think he has some bad azz Ford.

I quickly up shifted it into fifth gear and punched it...I soon breezed past him waving bye bye...those Ford guys never learn to mess with a Viper.

New Years day of 2020 I pulled up to a Charger at a stop light. Figured it was just a Scat Pack. Light turned green, and I launched. I was about a car length ahead of him, then heard the whine of a supercharger. Needless to say he zipped by me. Turns out it was a Hellcat. We pulled up to the next light and started talking. He was flabbergasted that I got him out of the hole. Actually, after I realized what I was up against, so was I.

I enjoy the "kill" stories. I have SOOO many in the good ol' Superbeast. One thing I notice, you only drop down to 5th gear at highway speed. I usually would drop to 4th and sometimes third on a go. Instead of doing the long wind catch up with the engines torque, I would jump out front and just go away. 4th gear in my RC went easily to 120 mph. I still remember the PRICELESS look on my buddies face when he ran me with his new 2017 Charger R/T Scat Pack 392 w/ 8-spped auto. 1st run was from a roll at 50-60 mph on the freeway (early on a Sunday a.m.). I gave him the hit and I was in 3rd. The Superbeast jumped out front of him quickly with about two car lengths in hand. It took him till around 130 mph to gradually get back next to me. If 5th gear was not so tall and the RPM's low after the shift from 4th, that would have never happened. It took all he had to "show me his tail-lights". Then he was done. I must say, the raw sound of the RC and his hemi side by side at high RPM and road speed was truly impressive!! On our second go, we were at a stop light next to an orange grove heading to our breakfast stop. We had more than a 1/3 mile out front of us. Now keep in mind, he was badgering and bragging prior to these runs by text to me. He kept stating that his 8 speed auto with "traction control" was going to teach me a lesson. I just said, "bring it out and we will run", "you know my day, time and place". So, the light goes green and AGAIN, while his 392 Charger was struggling for traction, the RC dug in with the fresh, warm Pirelli's and an efficient driver banging the gears and left him in my wake. The look of astonishment on his face was absolutely priceless. He KNEW there was not enough road to even play catch up. When we made it to our breakfast stop, he was absolutely humbled by the pure force of the Viper powered Truck. He admitted he was not expecting what happened. He was terribly worried that on the freeway run he would not be able to catch up! He shared with me that he had a new respect for the "Superbeast". He thought I was always exaggerating my claims about the truck. However, with what he just experienced, he would never give me shit about it anymore and NEVER did.

I also had a short run with a Hellcat Challenger ONCE. I was out with my buddy (he was in his Charger). It was pre-dawn on Christmas eve 2018. As we rolled down a boulevard towards the freeway, the driver pulled out from a cross road at a light. I pressed the gas to ease up and be side by side with him. We cruised side by side for a moment or two. Long enough for me to see the badge on the side. I was steady in 3rd gear (gear of choice at 50 mph). With my buddy in toe we hit it!! Man! I tell ya, you could have tied a 4 foot rope between our mirrors all the way to the round about!! I was surprised! The supercharger whine is very pronounced! 3rd gear for me was about done, so we were around 90-100 mph. All of a sudden, we were on the brakes HARD. He dove onto the access lane for the freeway and I resumed navigating the roundabout. I know for sure if we were on the freeway, the Hellcat would have walked away easily once I was in 4th. Its just physics and raw power. My buddy stated at breakfast that he was surprised and impressed that we were hand in hand on the short run. If I was not in the "sweet spot" (speed and gear choice), it for sure would not have been close at all. Sure the Hell was FUN!!

Cheers!
