    Hi Everyone,

I just finished doing a whole engine build on my truck: Forged Internals, Heads, Stock Cam, Cold Air Intake, Long Tube Headers, Magnaflow Exhaust, Coils, Spark Plug Cables, NGK Spark Plugs, electric dual fans.

At first start up, the engine sounded great and no issues with idling. After the engine was broken-in it started to not want to idle and just die. It fires up fine and accelerates fine. I just need to keep my foot on the accelerator to keep the idle up in order from dying on me.

I've checked for DTC codes and no codes have popped up. Fuel pressure is reading 60 lbs, vacuum gauge reads steady and no leaks.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how further diagnose this issue?

    Thanks,

Check to make sure your IAC (Idle Air Control valve) is not gummed up and can move freely. It is not expensive to replace.

The IAC looks fine to me, will order a new one eventhoug there's no DTC.

Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together (as your Stepper-Motor may have forgotten what is going on).

The ECU can lose count of adaptive control of the IAC which is controlled in incremental steps.
The IAC is a Stepper Motor.
Resetting the ecu with the battery cable "trick" will return it to the tuned baseline.
Best to ask for an IAC at a Parts Department though, so they don't refer you to a company that sells Escalators. :)

STP- Mystery goop for engines (didn't really state anything about what it did on the container)
STD- Generally an unwelcome guest that should be dealt with ASAP and NOT passed around.
ABS- Makes a strange sound just before you pile into something.
LSD- Some claim it might make sense of what's going on around us today (but I doubt it).

Thanks Wifey; my 2005 QC is "Bright" Silver Metallic. That could be where the confusion is coming in.

Britney Spears was once quoted as saying she'd like to visit overseas places like Canada.
Even with "Global Warming", I believe Canada and the U.S. are (not yet) separated by water, but: IF WE DON'T STOP BURNING FOSSIL-FUELS IMMEDIATELY, IT COULD HAPPEN!! (Yeah, ok...)

    Anyway, back on track...

Even the multitaskers (like my SRT-10) with average mileage seem to be in the spotlight, even in overseas places like Canada.

I'm not sure what is causing so many people to come to their senses and finally appreciate the SRT-10s. Maybe its a side-effect of C-19 vaccines and if that is the case, they truly ARE good for something.

During the last (two) truck outings, I've had unsolicited high offers on my QC.

One was from a kid that really should lay off the Red Bull and whatever else was roaring around in his system but the other was from an old guy (my age) that seemed completely legit.

Some people have amazing vehicle talents that render the original vehicles' mileage irrelevant and once sold, we shouldn't care what happens to them. But I think I still might if I sold mine.

Did you get it running properly?
If so- What was causing the problem?
