That groove beside the oiling hole isn't normally in a Gen III Block.
Ok ,, I’ve never seen the norm either .. learn something every day ..How much does Wifey owe lol

What cam profile did you settle on? – hydraulic roller

Is that choice of cam made to produce more lower end torque or HP , midrange or top end ?

There is way to much top end , especially from a street machine and weekend drags .. even in 1/8 and 1/4 mile runs … I think you mentioned for lower or midrange on here somewhere, or @rottenronnie may have.. I mean 150 mph isn’t going to happen either on the street or drags. That going to take a lot of power or maybe the Auto Bahn lol
 
Plus you definitely need a decent Idle for the street .. a huge cam is usually terrible idling and sitting at lights ..Fuel consumption even worse gets worse ..
 
Slow and steady. Just waiting on last shipment from USA then all rotating parts will go to be balanced.
Crank grind is happening as we speak. All parts checked and measured, block honed and washed, Striker heads will be checked over and any dags, sharp edges, removed.
My engine builder is having shoulder surgery on 24th so there will be a slight hiatus. Hoping to be back in truck by end of February. If not it is no big deal anyway.

Cam is a Custom design for my build for my truck. Everything is taken into account including exhaust, manual trans, UD pulley and lack of altitude. Every little detail is put in the computer and the design is spat out.
I wonder if the lobes will be on the underneath of the cam fo NZ??
Yes the engine will have a new and unique sound a bit like a rattle snake's warning. People will now it is a serious engine.
But still very much a street engine. Very driveable. The clutch for 800ftlb torque is the last before heavy and twin plate unstreetable versions.
I have asked about revs. I have been told, much more torque and power across a wider rpm range. So I can only asume this will mean the torque will start at the same or similar very low rpm but the upper rpm limit will be raised.
I can't see why the motor shouldn't rev 7000rpm. without any issues. Where max power will be....we shall have to see.
I have been assured by people in the know who build engines/race engines that this engine will just want to keep going. However we will have to wait and see to get the full picture and some dyno graphs to see where the power is and drive around for awhile to get the feel of the serious increase in torque.

Excellent ,,progress and anticipation together makes for fun insane times hahaha ..
I hear the upside down lobes add and extra mid rage boost in torque but may change which side the exhaust flows out of the tail pipes … lol
