Hello everyone, I need your help. I have red ram srt 10 2005 with AT . I Am located in Bulgaria.
I Am sure it has transmition problem, but not sure what kind of problems yet.
On a steep slope it is realy hard starting to move with almost full throtle.
I post video from accelerating from 0 to 60mph. Its is around 9 seconds which is alot and the rpms are very low for pedal to the metal.
Do you have any suggestions what it is.

Is the fluid level correct ? Is the fluid burnt smelling and not red ?
Has it ever been service , filter and fluid ?

After checking above , you need to pull the trans pan and inspect for sediment such as clutch and band material , metal shavings .. that would show physical damage and time for a rebuild !

Also check the trans throttle cable , if its connected , broken or out of adjusment ,,,, Connects to the throttle body !

Is it shifting through the gears at normal acceleration and speeds ?

Definatley seems to be revving in the video at low speeds and Couldnt tell if it was shifting ...

The oil is new. It was doing strange thing before the change- sliping second gear and some shakings while driving the first ten minutes. I will chek the throttle cable.

Your transmission is taking off in 3rd gear based on the poor acceleration and your engine speed of 3300 rpm at 60 mph at the very end of the video, which is also correct for being in 3rd.
And there is no shifting going on.

Right now, your transmission is in Limp-In Mode (which puts it in 3rd), regardless of the fact there is no check engine light visible on your dashboard in the video, which is a bit odd.

It has either an electrical or a hydraulic problem.

Because you mentioned slipping, the very likely remedy is to pull the transmission and have it rebuilt.

Sometimes you can get lucky with the external electrical connectors but as it was slipping before and is now in Limp-In Mode, the prognosis isn't good.

Good luck.

Im under the impression as its been that way since way back that fluid levels needs to be checked on mopars with the trans in Neutral tomget a accurate reading ..
Who serviced the trans ? Was anything found or noticed ?

Check all the simple basics mentioned so far ,first before tearing the trans out....

This week the car is going for diagnostic.
For me sounds very logic that it starts from second or third gear. I will let you know if they found something.
In case i have to change the gearbox who can you recomend me for remanufacturing?
I am on the other side of the globe, so shipping is also a problem for choosing remanufacturing company.

As stated above what maintenance was done to the transmission? Was it just a fluid change? How many miles does the truck have? When was the last time the bands were adjusted in the transmission? When was the governor and transducer replaced? How did the magnet, filter and inside of the pan look?

Do you have any tranny Rebuilders in your town? It would have been cheaper to buy a used one but with the tariffs here in the USA to your country makes it impractical. I agree with Ronnie you might have to pull the tranny out.

Worst case no doubt ... Hope its just somthing simple

The e.c.u. jamming it into 3rd is a definite sign of the transmission being in Limp-In Mode.
Sometimes the outside electrical connectors require a cleaning and careful tweaking of a pin or two, as they can cause the Limp-In issue through improper grounding. This sends the wrong info to the e.c.u. and forces the transmission to use third.
What's odd is there is no Check-Engine light. There MAY be a code resident if he uses the key on, off, on, off ON procedure (?)
I've yet to see a fluid/filter change and/or band adjustment "repair" issues like he is having (particularly slipping). Once slipping starts it takes no time at all before friction materials clog those tiny Governor screens, line pressure is lost and it's game over.

Heck just by pass all the electronic crap and make it like the old days hahahaha ,,, maybe make it a clutch-A- matic .. I always wnted one and the quick change rear way back in the day when I was young dumb and full of ,, well you know FREAKING BROKE HAHAHAHA

I wasn't familiar with Limp-In-Mode features so this is what I leaned for others who may not be in the know
