NEW SRT RUMBLE BEE TRUCK (2027)

$68,800 seemed like quite a bit to drop back in 2005 for the old SRT. Back then the QC was 5 grand more than the Reg Cab, but I wanted the auto and extra seating.
$68,800 doesn't buy anything too fancy today in a 1/2 ton truck.

21 years that's value. That's only .....um.....7 take away.....x5...... not much per year
No not much per year and except for when it was down nearly a year with tranny troubles and waiting on the u.s. machine shop for engine stuff, it's been available for "entertainment purposes".

They sure become a different animal once they've been "Strikerized".
797 on the engine dyno for a n.a. pump gas 8.3L is no joke!

That's also how I justify stereo equipment to my better 1/2...
"Yeah, but spread out over 100 years, it's peanuts" :)

Wow 797 that's out there. Going to start my truck today, back it out .....maybe a warm up run. I need to test the gene that is under the bench incase we have a snow storm this year. Have not had one since 2006. Nothing like a bit of dooms day prepping.

CAUTION: ANOTHER LONG POST

Yes it's great to start them from time to time if even to change which springs have a full-lift load on them.

Not sure what a gene is..snow shovel, snow blower, leaf/snow blower, a kid named Gene .. under the bench??!!

We didn't get much snow last winter so maybe it IS your turn.

797 is spry, foh sho and is right where it should be. Adding 23.5 h.p. per cylinder with Strikers and chamber mirroring on the piston tops along with LOW TENSION/low-gap rings and there you have it. A 100 shot of nitrous would likely be max. because of the gap; But..it wasn't built for that.

The rest of the added power (generally) is from a full point increase from 10 to 11:1, Headers, Injector location tweaking, injector height adjustments, friction reduction, reasonable camshaft with a super wide torque curve and a really good dyno tune.

It sure didn't come easy and took years of spare time and trial-and-error.

The little things can add up.
For example, the leanest Injectors were moved closest to the throttle body/away from heat.

Burn patterns can also help out. A Holley Engineer once said: "If your theory and results disagree, believe the results and invent a new theory". I've used that pearl a lot.

I tried to optimize every cylinder like it's 10 single cylinder engines tied to a common crank because, well, it is. Not a unique approach, but it works.

You should definitely be in that same power area even if it is being operated closer to the south pole than the north pole. Which reminds me of something else...

We should try this sometime...
I was north of the north pole in the early 70s and we didn't have cell phones to talk with like we do now. I was told the colours and shapes of the Northern Lights are mirrored at South Pole in real time. As a kid standing there watching the sky, freezing my ass off, I doubted the guys comments.

Years later, I would like to see for myself. So...when you get some spare time, find a gathering of Emperor Penguins to stay warm with near the South Pole and call me when the sky-show starts.
I can fly up to the North Pole and we could compare what we are looking at over our phones.
Sorry I dont know anyone closer than you are so, you're it.

It sure didn't come easy and took years of spare time and trial-and-error. For example, the leanest injectors were moved to the front of the class. Small things add up to be not so small sometimes.

Burn patterns can also tell you A LOT about what's going on during operation.

Genie - Garage door opener is my guess

Wow the poles comparisons sounds scientific for sure!!
I looked it up at a Library (remember those?) years ago, and its called Conjugate Aurora and is a real thing due to the way charged particles interact in a magnetic field.

More useless trivia that almost nobody cares about. Particularly on an SRT-10 Forum.
If I had to guess, I'd say we strayed off topic a bit (again).

But I still think the new SRT Rumble Bee looks like a Tundra with stick-on fender flares.

If we never went off topic we may not survive! But yes I see the Toyota resemblance lol

Agreed.
Too bad there aren't any active larger projects on the go or being posted. I enjoyed Kiwi's, as there was a common thread with the parts used. I'm still surprised he found a set of Strikers. I got asked about them for a few years after they were discontinued.

I agree! His build thread was educational as was yours! We need to revive some old threads for the new members who look but don't post :)
