08/09 Ram SRT

Anyone hear if they are gunnah make the Ram SRT in later 08 or 09 with the new Viper 600HP motor in it?

Someone here has to have info.

i heard talk from a secret source that dodge is gonna make a srt-8 ram. looking at 2010-11 if they do it. they want to compete with the new l's when they come out. the viper motor will never be in a ram again tho

There are still a few new '05-'06's on dealer lots, the model was never a huge seller. They're not going to get into that situation again, especially with no competing models from GM or Ford. I'd like to see an SRT-8 Dakota, personally - solve some of the weight issue with a 3/4 sized truck.

Hmmmm. How about a high-performance hybrid Ram? Maybe a fuel cell machine?

I believe I've seen talk about a turbo'd diesel in the works for a future Corvette model. Perhaps it's a possibility for trucks...:dontknow:

My automotive dealers news just said that Chrysler is planning on cutting back on several models in the next month or two. The new owners are looking to be more profitable and are not planning on making fringe vehicles any more. I doubt we will see a SRT10 again. Chrysler is saying that it will have a bigger hemi in the new 2009 ram pickup update.

Just got some type of Dodge magazine that showed an '08 Dakota with a 302 hp V8 as well as an E85 version. I forgot the torque numbers but can get them when I get home.

As for money maker, car manufactures always have a couple cars that do not make money, so that really is not a reason to say they will not make a new SRT-10 Ram. But, I agree it will probably not happen.

At the same time I also agree they will make a SRT-8 Ram someday, not Dakota, at least in the current form. The current Dakota is not setup to accept a Hemi between the frame rails. The SRT-8 Ram would probably get the 6.4 Hemi, which is also 500HP.

The question is, who is going to take their current SRT Ram and make a GEN IV Ram SRT-10 with a salvaged Viper engine?
