I guess this is the week for tinting. On Sat I had the tinting place strip off the legal 35% I had installed 4 years ago on the doors and replace with 18%. I also had a 5% strip on top of the windshield installed. Now this really makes a difference in reducing glare. I love it. They installed it down to the legal "A S1" line which is right above where the rear view mirror is mounted.

Installers also told me the factory tint on the RC's rear window while it does cut glare it does not cut out the heat. So I had them tint it to 18% as well.

I am totally stoked on how it looks and performs now. I would have liked to do the entire windshield like srtBrad but, I did not want to push it too far with the local law enforcement. Tint shop only charged me $259 for the entire job including stripping off the old stuff...........but I did have to pay in cash! LOL Tint shopped mentioned that other people have beat the tickets by having a medical exception. I will be speaking to my skin doc and getting something in writing since I have issues with the sun and my skin.

Pics are not the best...........overcast day, so lots of glare.

Drove by the local dodge dealer and saw this on their lot. Man, it really is nice in person. I absolutly love it. Not having a two car garage though, I wont be purchasing........no way the ten or the Challanger would be parked outside. Dealer is asking $52k for it!!!:( :p

Looks great brother, I had another look at my truck and thought they looked a lot darker than 35%, emailed the owner to ask if they tinted and if so to what, seems I have 20% on the front windows so no need to for me to tint - schweeeeeet. Driving at night is quite dark, I have no idea how the 5% guys drive around safely, it's far to dark to see. Nice work, if you can, find the tints thread I started and post a couple of reference (helps others). :)

looks good:rock:
now when folks say they got the windshield tinted, are they talkin about the whole thing???? that don't sound right or very safe:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

I did my entire windshield 50%. For me I have no problems seeing out of 50% tint at night at all. I would understand if the tint was more than 35% but at 50% the tint is safe IMO.

BTW your truck looks great Patrick.

I would love to do the entire windshield at 35%. All that glare gone. Is that legal in Cali Brad? I have enough reasons for the cops to pull me over already dark tint on sides, loud ass truck, no front plate, tires spinning all the time, powersliding corners!!! LOL

Thanks for the props guys...............I am loving the new darker look.

50% is not legal but then again what is legal except for illegals?

When I did the strip accross the top it was awesome. I also keep the visors flipped down all the time. with all the limo tint it was nice and dark even in the middle of the day...the sun is tough down here in AZ so its worth it.

Looks great and it sounds like you got a good deal! I wonder how hard it is to take off old tint? I imagine its as fun as taking wall-paper off!

So if you have a legit reason (Dr.'s note) for window tint, whats the % that is allowed?
I had all the windows on my QC tinted and matched to the factory tint but no less than a week I was ticketed and had to have it removed. I loved the look and it definitely kept it cool, especially here in So Cal. So it would be great to give the cops a note from a Dr.
