2005 vs 2006

Can you guys please give me your honest opinion on which model is better. I will be buying one very soon & i am tossing up between an 05 qc or an 06 qc.
Pros & cons please

I think you should buy the one you like better as far as looks. There is not enough improvement from those years to buy based on improvement.

I would not buy a 06 simply because of the interior, but that is opinion and others would buy a 06 because they like the interior.

Frame changes on the '06 make some of the direct bolt on exhaust options for an '05 not direct bolt-on for an '06.

The DC Stage II I purchased for an '06 was more expensive than the one I purchased for an '05.

The '06 has a tighter feel on the road.

I hadn't driven either an 04 or 05 - Just liked the looks of the '06 and the goodies mine came with - especially Inferno Red Pearl not to mention, Tonneau with wing - heated seats - nav w/6 disc player - moon roof for shooting moons etc etc. The interior was not a deciding factor but I do like mine.

While its true the frame on 06's is different some exhaust hangers have to be moved if your thinking of anything but Mopar/Borla which are exact replacement.

but in the end It's really a matter of what YOU like - you will probably not get a consensus of which is "better" all are viper powered and probably the main reason we all bought'em beauty is in the eye of the beholder

The 06's had the lowest production numbers making the 06 the rarest year. I like the interior of the 06's much more but feel you will have more luck finding aftermarket and factory parts for the 04 and 05 models. The electrical system and the frame on the 06 is different making it a litlle heavier.

Overall it comes down to your taste. If you are buying for an investment then I would go with the 06. If you are buying the truck for an everyday driver then any year would be suffice. If you are buying it for the track then go with a 04 or 05 RC. If you are buying it for a combination of everything including towing I'd go with an 06 QC.

Above is what Voodoo really meant.. ...I had the same question you did before I bought mine...I liked the interior much better on the 05 but liked some of the improvements on the 06...plus 06 was the last of the SRT10s.......My mind was made up when I ran across my truck and was able to buy it for about what 05s were going for with the same mileage (2300)...

I agree, the 05 Is my choice...I like the 3 seats, the leather bolsters are higher., and have more of a curved couture. The 05s are lighter, and more aftermarket parts. The 06 do have less of a production run...but who bought for resale anyways .

i would say that my nav in 06 qc sux, takes a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong to reload if you take a wrong turn, i almost have to pull over for it to catch up with itself we have other navs in three of our autos and 06 qc is the slowest.not really the best option.

my 05 has cup holders and a clock so don't know what you have kevan no heated seats though. but on same end i didn't get nav unit was figuring to put an after market one in anyways
