A couple of cars we bought yesterday

If it's a survivor car, don't do ANYTHING to it... especially if it runs (with minimal effort... ie: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc). If you repaint or try to polish the paint you will LOOSE half the value. Keep ALL parts you take off... no matter how bad they look.

Send me more pics of the Vette, when you get a chance, Eddie ( [email protected] ). Especially of the vin and body tags, any engine numbers you can find, and if you can... casting numbers off the trans and rear end. I can find out exactly what you have.... Also, check for a build sheet stuck to the top of the gas tank (you can feel around up there by hand from under the car. If you feel something, DO NOT REMOVE IT!)... Also, if you find a maintanence booklet with a metal tag attached to it, it's called a "Protecto Plate" (see here: Protecto Plate). Those are also very valuable with the car. Be very very careful doing anything to the car, if you think it's a survivor (all original). Corvette collectors are extremely picky/fickle! I'd hate to see you not get what it's worth because of a mis-guided mistake. If just the wheels are original, date-coded, Kelsey wheels they could be worth $12-15k! You could have a real gold-mine there.
right now we are just going to get it running. the guy put screwed up wheels on it but we did find the hubcaps with spinners so we are going to have to find a set of steel wheels for it. the paint actually looks pretty good. the front fender on the passenger side has started to crack where they all do.whoever had it converted it to a 12v system with a alternator but the generator was in the trunk.

I love the way Benny does business!!!!!

Does Benny like oral sex???? I really like that Charger!!!

You beat me to it!

What's a BJ compared to getting a car like that??? and I don't even lean that way. I'm sure some lucky bastich will end up with it, and it won't be me. Probably worth 75K.

Awesome find guys. The old hotrodders dream....the killer barn find!

MORE pics please!!!!

Take every number you can find and research it. You never know what you have with these old vettes! It just takes one "odd" option or a rare part to send the value through the ROOF. ;) And, seeing one that came outta a barn with that much dust on it just peeks my interest. It's really cool the guy kept some of the old parts (generator).

.... I suppose a wash wouldn't hurt. :dontknow: :p Just make sure you stick some towels or something in all the weather-striping points (doors, TOP, windows, etc).

I would love to help you research it, Eddie, if you want me too. :)

My Gram had a "64" Mark II and she'd just let me drive it around when I wanted and I was only 15...freakin awesome car. And my other Gram had 57 tricked out caddy that she wouldn't let anyone touch....but my Dad inherited it later and I got to drive it.....talk about land yachts.

So, I'm with ya on the older Lincoln, it'd be sweet....
automotive engineering at it's finest, for America anyway.

I was drooling over Benny's caddy....turn it into a hotrod??:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: Not me, drive it around with a big ceegar in my lip:D :D :D :D :D :D LOL

Can you imagine the sound those 2 4bbl's make when you punch it??

Just a note......not to be negative and I'm sure you have more experience than I do.

Bought a 71 Roadrunner that had been sitting for 3 years untouched. Got it home and changed all the belts and hoses but I took it out for a drive, it was sweeeeeeet and got to BF egypt and two of the freeze plugs blew and stranded my ass. Rusted through and I didn't have enough "car recovery" experience to think about it past the hoses and belts.

So having said that, you might want to check them after the cars come up to operating temp. At least before you go too far :D

Damn!! I was just in Dothan at the begining of the month (what a pain in the arse to get there). If I knew they had cars like that hiding there I would have stayed an extra day or 2.

Very Nice Finds! Enjoy them..

a few more pics i took yesterday when we went and got the other cars. did fine out the caddy only 450 or so were made so it will be going back original
