I am on "the list" for getting a Roe twin-screw. They said that auto tranny upgrades were NOT required; others on this site say otherwise.

In a street application (no slicks or Caltracs), I am leaning towards NOT needing upgrades to the tranny either.

Thoughts on this??

Thanks
Ron

spend a few hundred and get a new 2nd gear band, strut and apply lever....With the $$ spent on the S/C get some valvebody work as well so it hits hard....

If you decide to go for a tranny, you can see mine for sale in the buy/sell section. It's the best you can buy and will take anything you can throw at it. The tranny is actually located at Roe right now.

the stock 2nd gear band goes out with spirited driving and no supercharger. mines' gone out twice now.

I would recommend a upgraded tranny even for a NA motor. You loose too much on the drivetrain already...

Getting the bands adjusted will help out quite a bit.

yea im guessing the stealership goon doesn't know how to adjust them, or they need to be re-adjusted after a nice easy break in. after I get it fixed this next time, I'll drive it easy for a while and have it re-adjusted. maybe I'll get brave and do it myself! eh, it's kinda cold out though. supposed to be 69 today. if it's below 70, I don't work outside!

Perspective is Everything... If it is MINUS 25, we don't work outside (construction) either....
