David Gilmore is pretty phenominal.... And I've heard the Dark Side Of The Moon Tour was one of the best concerts of all time.

..... Incidentally... That is the largest Disco Ball ever made (no horseshit). There were actually 3 of them built for the tour. Their final resting place was at Orlando International Airport. They are still there, I think. A friend of mine works at Cessna/Citation and they are over by the hanger in crates.

I am at once biased and torn to answer this question without sufficient categorization.

In addition, many of the true giants are dead but without whose foundation the living legends would have little on which to build.

I couldn't name names without dividing them into specific musical genres.... Otherwise we have great classical (for instance) technicians without a profound ability to improvise vs: illiterate oafs whose pure riffs and techniques set the world on fire, like Robert Johnson and Django.....

The field is just too wide for me..... Sorry.

Of the jazz genre, Joscho Stefan is thee most gifted Djangologist/ technician and musician I've ever heard- including Al DiMeola, Mahavishnu, and all the other jazz players, too. This is thee wunderkind.

He's so good that unless you're a player, it can easily go over yer head. What tiny clams (there may be) are barely perceptable.

Jimmy Page, Hendrix, Gilmour, Clapton, SRV and yes, Prince can play that guitar with the best of 'em! No, not a Prince fan but it is what it is....
