I was wondering if anyone of you might have this problem. Every couple of days I have to clean the exhaust tips on my truck due to black powder from exhaust fumes. I also notice moisture on my garage floor under the exhuast tips. When my truck is in neutral running, I notice water/moisture dripping from the tips. I have had the truck for 9 weeks or so and this has been going on since I bought it. Does anyone else have this problem or know what this it?

Thanks,
Russell

Well, we all have this 'problem'. The only way to stop it is to never start the engine again. Which would suck.:(

Ya can't really stop condensation, and the black soot is part of the combustion process.

Clean your exhaust tips when you attack brake dust. :D

These trucks run very rich from the factory to protect the engine. What you see on the exhaust tips is from that.

The water is just condensation.

Nothing to worry about.

Yes ...... I have the same thing, maybe normal, someone will set us straight ...

Water is one of the by-products of combustion. When exhaust is cold it condensates. When everything heats it just vaporizes

If fire begins to come out, get down close to the exhaust tip and get a sniff of what's burning. If you're still able to function after that, get to your friendly local Dodge dealership. They'll let you know that you've somehow voided your warranty (regardless of whether you've modified the truck or not), and that it's your responsibility.

Yes Virginia, there's a little bit of der Fuhrer left in Daimler.
