Hi guys,

Just a quick thread, done plenty of searching and didn't find too much. I'll be doing some planning on customizing my engine bay over the next few weeks, well, not customizing it per se, cleaning it up and continuing the Batrams theme to finally complete my truck. Question: What bolt ons am I missing from the list below? I like the power band at present, with the 4L80E, 305/45s and it's current bolt ons, it's a great street combo. I just need to know if I'm missing any bolt ons I could add while doing up the bay. By bolt ons I mean external, I know some class head-work as bolt on. Externally only is what I am after. I think I have everything but if you know of any small "hp cheats" that work or you have mods that keep things a tad cooler etc, please, speak up. :)

Here is what currently I have:

B&B Long Tube Headers
B&B Catless Mid Pipes
B&B Exhaust (w/DMH Cutouts)
JMB CAI + Catchcan
Roe Racing Throttle Body
Roe Racing SCT Tune
Roe Racing Crankcase Breather
Roe Racing 170 Degree Thermostat

As it is now..........*yawn*

Ported heads.

Battery relocation kit... not for HP, but good for traction and cleaning up the engine bay.

Yup, I have a good list of cleaning up jobs to do, this is one of them.
Thanks all the same for the help. Not sure on the water meth part but will search it. Thanks. ;)

1. BBK Throttle Body instead of Roe for better numbers.

2. Ported Intake or Hogan Intake. Check link:
http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29185&highlight=extrude+honed+intake

3. Stryker head with Jessel rockers.

4. SCT Tuner.

5. Zex 175 shot N20 kit and 2 step colder plugs for the special occasions.;)

6. 708 Comp cam (I think this is the performance cam for us)

7. Stinkers rear end. (let the jokes flow)

8. Stinkers wires.

This you give you a good list to give Santa.:D

Thank lads but as mentioned, I'm only looking externally so no cam or flow work. However, if I "were" to port the heads and intake, do I need anything else done to the internals like cam or piston work? I won't touch NOS and am reluctant to go into the engine, it'll open up a whole can of worms. If it ain't broke don't fix it is where I stand with my truck's engine. I have Adams 1500F performance wires and plan to get Stinkers Viper coils too. I will look into the BBK throttle body, what kind of # difference did you see or hear of SRTBrad? I'll do a search on both.

Thanks guys!!

Thanks but I've done a lot of research and have never been a big fan of the stuff. No matter who tunes it, after time that stuff does and will eat away at your engine. I'm after reliability for the Batram. Can't rescue anyone when you're parked up on the side with hazards flashing LOLOL :p Thanks all the same, it's just my preference/opinion. :)

most of negative stuff you hear about nitrous is from folks who never used it and folks that went cheap with it and the folks that just pushed the limit...

There is a happy medium. though....ask justin how many bottles he's ran thru his truck;) Hell i think the batram motor would look bitchin with all blacked out direct injection system...or maybe just a dual nozzle with the solnoid plate being a batman insignia..Well i

Carl, heres a few things I have done to mine.

Relocate battery and get rid of battery tray. After getting rid of the primary battery tray you will need to deal with the fuse panel and ABS module. Relocate the fuse panel under the dash (lots of work) and relocate the ABS module under the truck (also lots of work).

The above 3 things really clean up the RH side of the compartment

Get rid of 2nd battery tray
Tuck the heater lines low in the engine compartment
Get JMB's hidden coolant overflow tank (it is "hidden")
Get JMB's window washer tank
Get JMB's electric fan, this will help the temperature (I will order this probably tomorrow)

I also ditched all my evap system crap too, this cleaned up the 2 lines that flow over the engine and down to the A/C compressor area. Only problem now I have CEL because of this.

Also got rid of the cruise control system because it is just plain nasty and I didnt use it anyway.

Hmm what else, I know there is more but that is all that comes to mind. Oh ya, help me find someone that will make up smooth inner fenders. The inner fenders are formed to hold some of the above components that will now be gone and they are kinda ugly.

Did you take that fuzzy liner off the top of the firewall(just under the wiper cowl)Stainless steel bolt kit from Justin-JMB.Loom any wires/cables that don't have any on them.and ziptie stuff up too.;)And how about a powder caoted "BATRAM"intake??

Carl
Get rid of those White reservoirs, buy em or paint em. Special Caps with Batram Symbols.

Get the idea ......... can't wait to see it finished.

Hi guys, thanks lads but trust me, I have many ideas jammed into this head of mine. ;) I'm just after bolt on power mods. Customizing it is straight forward enough for me. Thanks all the same. :) I was going to do "BATRAM" where Viper is in the valve covers BUT, decided against it. I will gloss black the head covers and skim the Viper logo so they look nice and polished. The Viper engine is the soul of the truck, taking that label away from those who don't know cars will dull the engine bay to me. I want people to immediately recognize the engine for what it is - a Viper motor. Having Batram on it, I wouldn't be surprised if someone stuck their head in and said: "Cool, what cubic inch is this V8?" or "It's a Hemi right?" No mistaken it when it has the Viper font on it. I will keep you posted but in the mean time, feel free to keep adding those "cheeky" hp gaining mods, even if it makes 1.6hp at the wheels I'm keen on it.

Thanks!!

Just "bolt on" a Paxton, get a safe tune and forget about it. :D

Only other thing I can think of for what you specified would be Justins electric fan. Other than that you have the basic bolt ons covered.
