Ok Guys,

Most of you already know I deleted my rear cats and Got my 3 Inch Magnaflow. Now How hard would it be to Delete the Fronts In terms of costs and Time. How do I do it? Do I have to go to an exhuast shop. Let me know. I think Prof was right Why delete only 2 You still have a restriction in power so Go Balls out:rock: Let me Know I appreciate it.

while your at it Annu ---how about going balls out as the prof said and do headers while you have it apart

Just go with high flow front cats. I think the difference between hi flow cats and no cats is 1HP loss.

Your probably right brad But most guys Have the Catless Mids and they Love it.

You still have front cats ? WTF!!!!! JK.....LOL

Dude, I thought you chopped em all out. This is why we all have x metal or JMB midpipes, they delete all 4 at once.

I cant tell you the difference between the fronts and rears or if you'll notice anything power increase..... Talk with Red007, I think he has openned them up.

this decision has more to consider than just removing cat's...... if you go the cheapest route & go catless mids (which seem to be popular), you'll have to deal with mechanical sims in between the rear two o2 sensors.... what i mean is sims in the o2 bung first, followed by the o2 sensor..... this will help avoid the dreaded cel......
having no cats will give you the "most bang for the buck" mod that you'll be able to do....... unfortunately, you'll have to be careful of when you go in for deq inspection -- if they do a visual, you're done..... most just plan on swapping out their mids before they go in for deq...... i found this to be more hassle than i wanted so i went with a flanged setup on a b&b complete setup (headers on back & costly)....... i ended up with a very short set of mids that are flanged for ease of swapping (hi-flow cats on one set, catless on another).........
and the b&b setup sounds the best too, but it ain't cheap........

You get pulled over in CA and the officer checks because it's so damn loud, expect more than just a fix it ticket. I'm going the high flow route. In my opinion it's not worth the risk.

Order the mopar kit it will come with everything you need, headers, cat-less mid pipes & all the hardwear.

very good point.......yea here in calif. they can take your car(truck) and inpound it for eney tampering to the smog device......welcome to calif..........

The rears are super restrictive, fronts are more 'free'. Fronts are ceramic, and rears are stainless mesh....On my truck I got the plasma cutter out, opened up all 4 cats, gutted them, and welded it back together. Looked COMPLETELY stock, but 100% performance gain .

Disclaimer: you need to follow all smog laws for your state, and do as I say not as I do :D For OFF ROAD use only (I think thats what all mods are for right..?!?!)

Take care!

Annu, if you recall I told you that it was crazy to just delete the rear cats. You don't seem to want to listen.

"Begin with the end in mind..."

Deleting the rear cats then asking about deleting the front cats...it would embarrass me...but its not me is it?

This is not directed directly towards Desert Viper. But to everybody that keeps saying remove all of them.

Removing you cats is not only a California law. It's a federal law. California just has some stricter penalties if you get caught.

If you get caught in California. It is rumored (still getting the facts) that they can impound your vehicle on the spot and hold it for 30 days. Then you have to pay towing and storage and because they are not going to trust you to make it right. They do it for you. Buy you have to pay for the repairs.

It is also rumored that they can even keep your vehicle FOREVER. Yeh that means you don't get it back ever. ( I really suspect this is a rumor )

$2500 fine per cat on top of everything else.

The shop if there is one gets a minimum $10,000 fine. And thats for any state.

It's also been "rumored" that in southern California. They have infared sensors on the side of the road that look for heat signatures from the cats on vehicles. I suspect this one to be highly unlikley.

So to all you people who live outside of California. Know you can have insite on why we are worried about this.
