06 QC 6 disc changer...

I’m not sure what’s going on, I just loaded a new CD in number 6 space and now I cant play or eject any CD... :dontknow: I tried disconnecting the battery hoping it would reset itself but that didn’t work, worst comes to worst I can take it in to the dealer under warranty but the Dodge dealers in my area leave something to be desired. Any ideas?

Was it a burned CD with a lable on it?

When I had my F-350 with In-Dash 6 Disc, it did the same thing.. the label became wound up in side the unit...they fixed it under warranty.. as they had a "update" to the unit, and provided me a new deck...

Mine has done this 3 or 4 times.
Eventually, it got bad (as you describe) but I got a disc out and put in one of those laser cleaning Cds in and ran it. Problem solved; so now I just run the disc once a month and haven't had a problem since.

find a good dealership, they'll warranty it. I am fortunate I live by a awesome dodge dealer who always takes care of me.

Mine went out right after I got my truck...........sucks but dealer did fix......well they actually ordered a new deck and eventually I did get my cd's back from dodge.

it needs a unit... seem them from time to time... you'l get your cd's back in about 6 weeks

I received EXCELLENT service here (on a holiday Saturday!):

Mine just locked up on me,too.:( Won't play or eject. Dealer said they will order new unit and send my CD's back to me.

Mine hasn't locked completely, but every once in a while, when I start the truck, the volume is all the way down, it has switched to AM, and the bass and treble settings reset to the middle of the adjustment. This is not a 6 disc, but nav w/o the onscreen map, BTW. Anyone experienced this?

Mine does that every now and again... its the newer NAV, 6 disc...

I had to replace both cd players in both trucks for similar issues. Even new my new one acts up now and then.

They are garbage....The stock sound system in my 98 Expedition blows this system away.

Yeah...got mine replaced and the replcement was Krap!!!:(

So I went with the MOPAR IPOD hook up and problem solved.....until I buy an entirely new system!:D:D:D

well mine has the same problem, cd player is locked up... it's certainly not specific to any model year
Looks like the 6 disc (RBQ)? is the most inherent to fail?:dontknow:

Are the Alpine and Pioneer head units in this thread just direct replacements ? How much would have to be done to use one ? Plug and play or semi-pro install ?
