remove all electrical connections

remove all intake bolts and unhook the fuel lines and vaccum lines

remove intake

replace wires

then back up

I swear Tee, if I do this and it works out, I'll end up having that thing off and turned into JMB as a core swap for a chromed or powdered unit, then off every other month again for cleaning or :dontknow: just for the heck of it.

Now that is the only hard part.

I did not swap mine because I am not smart enough . I just did a IM and valve cover swap.

I would only pop in red high temp ones if I were to remove the intake. Then I'd do all the necessary stuff like that while it's getting powder coated or whatever for some bling action.. Now, are the gaskets reusable.? I thought I may have seen that somewhere around here, but trying to make sure..

Yes I have a brand new one I got from Steve Austin about a year ago. I received it and never took it out the box. I anticipated that I would need it when I learned of my new traveling position. But thus far the truck remains locked up and plugged up in a controlled environment so I never needed it.

Anyway, the cover.. It's for an RC (of course) and I forgot what kind of material, but it certainly isn't cheap material. I bought it for $150.00 plus shipping but I was letting it go to an interested member for $100 shipped. When I get back home on the 16th I will take the box down from the closet and inspect it. Then I'll shoot you a PM about it, cool?

Not sure if I'll have the time to get 'er done and get another "altered" intake from Justin before PCB.. But I definately am going to do it... Oh I was just looking at Sanchoba's picture and remembered the TB.. Will this job require me to adjust the TB again during re-assembly? It's an X-Metal model..

anthony if you want to do your intake an want some help let me know, it took me 4hrs to get mine off and only 30mins to put it back on once you know how to get to all the bolts gaskets are resuable but if you MUST have new ones it think they are like 46 bucks a side

To answer an earlier question, the factory wires are $25 each or $250 a set, and I got a complete custom set of MSD from Justin for $110 delivered. No loom that fit right though, any thoughts?

Oh HELL YES dude, I would need someone experienced and readily available before I go against my own beliefs and take apart something that isn't broken. When that thing comes off I am going to make the endeavor worth it y doing a powdercoating or a high polished deal.

Why the loom? Aren't they already high temp wires?

you dont need the loom, they are high temp.

that back bolt kicked my ass. pulled a thread at the bottom & hard all the way out. air hammer helped alot.
must have been some extra meat in the bolt area on mine. nothing would fit. did a bit of clearencing before goin back on. no prob.
i went with the Quality Wires & Denso iridium plugs. man what a difference.
have to play hard to get m.p.g. below 11.6. starts better & throttle responce seems better:rock: :burnout: :rock: :burnout: :rock: :burnout:
