I'm not sure what to do in this scenario. I just bought this 05 QC with 80k. It has a plaque that says it 'was built with pride by DC Performance". I looked them up and it's been a while since they were in business. But I have a few options. I actually really like the decel burble/rumble/quiet popping. That is really fun since I daily this in traffic and I can't always get on it. I've heard that if I get high flow cats for the front and delete the second it will reduce that decel rumble but make what does come through louder.

1) Cut out the bad cat and replace it, keep the bassanis
2) Replace both mid tubes with high flow cats from Magnaflow, keep the bassanis ~ $1600
3) Get bellanger headers with high flow cats ~ 2300

One thing to note is that this is my 3rd Ram srt-10. I just keep coming back to them. Hopefully I'll stop being an idiot and just keep this one. Previous ones were 06 QC that had a million problems, 2nd one was 05 Single cab that was amazing with zero problems that I should've never sold. That one popped like gunfire and was a tad too much, but still fun. Anyway, thoughts?

The only upgrades I foresee doing to this is a better steering wheel and (if still available) a trans swap.

If you already like what you have on the sound just replace with the same type of cat ..
Magnaflows use to have a tiny pop sound that people didnt like and complained about plus some installed them and they had defective baffles that broke internally .. ( Magnaflow may have fixed that problem years ago ) .
Do you live in a place that you can delete the cats ?

Are youmsure the cat is clogged ? What code is thrown .. the codes can make you replace things that arent really bad ..

I like my magnaflows and I believe they did correct that problem

Yep, I forget the code. I took it in to a shop because the code left the issue open (kinda like you said, could've been cats, 02 sensor, etc). They said it was the cat. Here's the thing, shortly after I bought it I noticed a loud rattling "in the dash" when under accel. I just thought the blower motor got something in it. But according to the shop it was the cat that was rattling.

Do the turn the key on off on off on (leave on) and see what the code is on the dash trip odometer ... those O2 sensors seem to blame the cat .. also check for broken or loose exhaust heat shield shields ..

The only way to see if the cat internals is to look inside and see if the catalyst is intact .. .. you can bust the catalyst and free up the exhaust flow to save expense of purchasing new cats ... doing so in a state may get you in emmisions jail lol but if it looks factory they probably wont question anything lol ...

So I pulled the codes again and there are two.
P0420 "Catalytic System. Efficiency below Threshold Bank 1"

P0442 "Evaporative Emission System leak detected (small leak)"

I'll get under it later this week to see if the shielding is loose or anything. I appreciate the input

Do you throw these inside the throttle body to fix the Clogged Cat??

So I think I'm going to go with Billy boat mids w/cats. It looks like they offer ones that hook up to stock/shorties.

However, another issue popped up. The "Lamp out" light flickers on and off. Typically I'd just assume that a light bulb is out somewhere. But, the other day the car alarm went off two different times when I unlocked the truck and opened the door. Think it is a fuse rather than a wire? I'll get out and look at all the bulbs/wires this week. No codes thrown for the lamp out issue.

Dan Cragin here. Yes we built that truck back in the day. Those Bassani's worked well and we had a really good calibration for that setup.
If emission testing is not a consideration. Just run 2 magnaflow cats and make sure you replace both upstream O2 sensors.
