Pure rubbish. Like saying every LEO is a power abusing, bribe taking scourge on the lower classes.

Weed is less harmful than either alcohol or tobacco. But our Anslinger influenced "officials" can't see their way past Reefer Madness to even consider it's use for terminal patients. That is sickening.

Biggest problem we have is prescription drug abuse, but that's "legal". Our drug laws are dated and draconian. It's time for a change.

And just for the record, I as well as nearly everyone I know smokes a little weed, and none of us are a burden on society. Good thing I smoke too, keeps me from being so tightassed that I would want this "discussion" to now end because I feel offended by being lumped into a group that is a drag on society. LOL.

But to institute asset forfeiture and property seizure on some dumfuk 19 yr old shlub who just bought 2 oz of grass and to steal his (borrowed sister's) POS only source of transportation 'just because we can' is fkd up.... That isn't an amount consistent with sales and distribution... Hell, I got busted in the Texas panhandle in 1979 with a quarter pound of personal stash and all it cost me was $250......

{Funny thing is, when I became a cop, I called the local (Texas) judge and explained the circumstances..... Busted for weed.....never appeared in court..... bench warrant...etc..... Now, I was gonna be a cop....Please help......bla bla bla... The judge said, "Son.... (by talkin' with you) I can tell that yer a good boy now..... Consider it exponged.... Like it never even happened...."}

I'm just saying that seizure laws shouldn't apply to low level users who might sell a dime bag to their friends...... Steal their property and ruin their lives for 2 lousy ozs of weed.....?

Its obviously u have never smoked weed,u live in a glass house and ur mom is nancy reagan: addiction has everything todo with the individual,if it isnt coke for that person is alcohol or meth or whatever,addiction is usually passed down from one generation to the next ,it has more todo with someone not learning how to cope with everyday problems ,hence why when people get out of detox the go into a program that teaches them their trigger points .

The only reason pot was banned is because of the drug companies,the amount of pressure they put on senators and congressman is unreal,god forbid u can grow a pot plant for 15 bucks instead of paying 800 a month for pain meds.

The netherlands has some of the lowest crime rates in europe,gee go figure that weed is legal there.

You are partially right. I don't do drugs. But I do have family members and childhood friends who have destroyed themselves and destroyed others in the process because of drugs and alcohol.

I have seen some of the most hardened criminals on this continent up very close and personal and I have seen how drugs of all types (including weed), alcohol and guns are very closely intertwined with who they are and what they are all about. It wouldn't bother me any if alcohol were made illegal too.
 
A word of caution and propriety:

Let's be mindful of the fact that excessive and demostrative phrases that contain the word "you" can very readily give the recipient a feeling that this fight is personal......

Let's maintain proper decorum and be mindful that a meaningful disagreement is always respectful and contains a bare minimum of personal attack....

Let's do what we can to keep the stress levels down, by keeping the use of the word "you" in an impersonal and non threatening context....

OK, maybe I should have worded it differently, but I would be willing to bet that you know plenty of folks that smoke dope and aren't a drain on society, you just don't know that they smoke dope.

In my experience, I would have to say that all these people that blame dope for their problems would have a shitload of problems yet without the dope. It is an easy thing to blame your woes on though, and a lot of people will take pity on you or blame the dope right along with you.

In the world I live in dope/alcohol are never an excuse for acting stupid. If you can't control it, leave it be. And if you can't do that, don't come around, it won't end up pretty.

I think I have done every kind of drug out there, with the exception of ecstasy, I'm getting kind of old for psychedelics. I'm not bragging, just saying that drug use does not make one a "loser". Nor does it make one "cool". It's a small part of my life, but something that I enjoy and cause no one grief over.

I don't do dope or alcohol and haven't for a coupla decades....

But, in spirit, I have to agree with Bob's point......

There's tons of folks who do weed and are very high functioning and successful in life.....

I'd say that there are more people who's liquor problems have a grossly destructive impact on them and their loved ones... Nobody's arresting them unless they're Public Intox or 502...........

The law is unfair........... inequitable and politically... It stinks.

You may very well be right Bob.

But as I said, in my life experiences drug use, wrecked homes, wrecked relationships, crime, prison and death all seem to have been common elements. Therefore, I lump them together. Can't help it. That's just the way it is for me.:dontknow:


For those that can smoke casually and suffer no ill effects, have at it.
Just don't have it in your pockets if you ever get frisked by me, or you'll be up $hit creek, lol. :2in1:

I'll be 39 years old next month and I have never smoked weed. In my youth, I was always able to abstain from the peer pressure. As an adult, my confidence level has never dropped to a level that I felt I needed an artifical change agent in my life.
 
I'm 34 yrs old and can say the same!! For that matter I've never drank or smoked either....
