Dodge Dealer Ratings

I have had a couple of experiences with CR Dodge... both were not what I would consider glowing, but not poor either when I lived in CR up til 1996.

I bought my Twin Turbo Dodge Stealth from them in 94 (Model year 95). It had a few problems... mostly brakes, and one battery. They kept trying to blame the brakes eating up rotors and pads every 3-4k miles a problem with the aftermarket wheels... even though I had 3rd party wheel, tire, and brakes experts state that the master cylinder was not releasing properly and causing the brakes to basically be on partially most of the time.

The issue with the batteries dying was really never figured out.. I just kept having Dodge put new batteries in it...

I probably would not try them with my Viper Truck...

Maybe we could establish a rating system for dealers and divide them into two or three categories (sales, services, parts)? How about 1-5 each category with 5 being excellent, 4 good, 3 average, 2 fair, 1 poor, N/A no experience?

Here are mine:
Cedar Rapids Dodge - Cedar Rapids IA
Sales - 4
Bought one truck through them. They weren't too excited I used an employee discount, but over purchase experience was good. Fairly quick processing of paper work.
Service - 4
Not much personal experience with their service other than a TSB for our Caliber under warranty. That was handled well and they fixed the problem.
Parts – 4
The few parts I purchase through them had to be ordered, but they did arrive within a day or two. Don’t go at lunchtime, they seem to disappear.

Thanks for reminding me about this, Roy! :)

I just completed a service visit to Boniface-Hires Dodge in Merritt Island, FL...

They are GREAT folks to deal with.

I needed a few things....
1. Oil Temp gauge didn't work (stuck at 200 :dontknow: )
2. Truck pulled to the right.
3. Trans "felt" like it was slipping...
4. Bumper needed a repaint (damn Love-Bugs! )

The service manager was very polite... they got me right in! They replaced the oil temp... aligned the truck... checked the tranny (they said it was fine. But, told me to "Keep an eye on it" as it still has plenty of warranty left).... scheduled an appointment w/ their paint guy to fix the bumper (goes in next Thursday  AND they are only going to charge me $150! ) ..... They also changed the rear diff fluid, 'cause they said it was due (16k mi.)

He THANKED ME for bringing the truck in... and even commented that it sounded GREAT with the Magnaflow, and asked where I got that "Bitchin'" CAI from :D ;)

They only charged me for the Diff. Service. :dontknow:

Great folks! :burnout:

How long is the paint going to take a few days?

Was about to give Windward Dodge here in Hawaii a 10 for doing my drop kit and various other services for dirt cheap.....

UNTIL THEY PUT A BIG FREAKIN DENT IN THE RIGHT REAR FENDER!!!:(:(:(

Now I will be waiting on them to fix it next week.:(

Freakin Dodge Dealerships...never had a good experience yet.....Lookin for an Upside.

West Side Dodge in Jax brings the suck....

Jax CJD rocks.....Viper tech there is named Garret, he's a good guy...they treat me like a champ....

Mark T mentioned some guy in Orange Park as well, but I dunno....

For those of you in Southern Cal DCH Dodge in Temecula.....service manager is a Viper Tech, and so is their Tranny guy....cant go wrong with 2 viper techs in the house and their turnaround time has been incredible. Ask for Donovan and tell him the Guinness guy sent you

Gary Mathews Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep in Clarksville TN

Not sure if they have a viper tech, but the service department is very friendly and helpful. Haven't had any mechanical work done. :dontknow:

I've purchased two vehicles (jeep and a dodge) from them and the sales staff is hit or miss (as usual). But the sales manager, Larry Alexander is top notch. Very professional, honest and caring. I would not hesitate to buy another vehicle from him or this dealership.

Larry H Miller Dodge, Sandy, Utah. They tried to take the locking lug off and scratched the wheel and didnt say anything ( like I wouldnt notice). The parts guys admit to taking cars out for test drives (bragging about a ram srt10). Lastly I had a rocker arm in my Hemi break and they fixed it but didnt tightn the valve cover correctly and oil was all over the place. I will NEVER EVER take any vehicle back to them again. The service manager is very cool but the mechanics suck IMHO. .

I bought my 10 from Larry H Miller in Peoria, AZ... the sales experience was good... (for the most part), but the service experience has been not so good... they scratched my wheel when they did an alignment... I dont think they have a Viper Tech anymore... so that is why (even though its a bit out of my way) I take my truck to Avondale Dodge (Dragons place..)

They do a really nice job for me, and make sure that I am 100% happy with the work before I leave, I even get a follow up call from them asking what I thought.

Lucas Smith Dodge , Festus MO

The best dodge dealer in the world. Great Service, great people!!!

Carriage Town Dodge, Delaware Ohio A+

I purchased the red truck from Carriage Town Dodge.

I was looking for another truck as my silver truck had been apart for 2 years at that point.

Patrick called me on a Saturday morning and said he saw one on Ebay that looked interesting. Red, no less. I wanted another silver one.

I contacted the dealarship and asked a few questions and was put in touch with the used car manager. We talked and he seemed very straight forward and told me after looking it over that there was a very small "curb rash" on the right front rim. Otherwise the truck could easily pass for new.

Picked Patrick and I up at the airport in Columbus. He had all the paperwork ready to go and we were on the road at noon Friday in Delaware OH.
Got back to San Diego Midnight Saturday.

I would definatly do business with Carriage Town again.

I had no experiance with their service Dept.

Damn fine idea, Roy......

My purchase was thru a dealer in Abilene, TX. called Star Dodge/Hundai. They were awesome and even hooked me up with Elite Transport.. Got a fully covered trailer and curb service for $995... I really liked this dealer.... Good old boys from Texas, ya can't do better than that.

Locally, I have oil changes and simple service done at Jack Powell Chrysler/ Dodge in Escondido, Ca..

These guys are OK..... Good, in fact.... They charge me $95 for an oil change and are reasonable when I mention my aversion to padding their shop time.... I don't give a shit what the book sez.... I know how long something takes and I won't accept paying for more time than it actually takes...

This dealer's service department DID rat me out to Dodge about my Paxton blower and got my powertrain warranty voided, but that's to be expected.... BFD.

They do treat me like a king and even compliment me on the smell of my cigars. (go figure) And there's always someone (who works there) who begs me for a demo ride and comes back raving about this monstrous beast to all the rest'a the employees....

Jack Powell is (overall) a real good dealership, except for (poor) Tim in the service drive. He's as thick as a plank. Just like all us Tim's.

All engine (etc) service is done by DC Performance up in LA......

Again..... great thread, Roy.

Little known fact.... But, Carriage Town Dodge is one of the oldest dealers in the nation. :) My Dad used to buy cars from them when I was a kid (I'm from Columbus). :)
