I was wondering what I might need at the strip if I was putting down 620ish hp in the way of tires. I would really like to get just one set of tires for all around strip use. Also, the rims would be?? I've heard locks and caltracs for good grip. Other than tires am I missing anything?

Roy, care to chime in here?

Thanks,
Perry{

Caltracs is a must....QA1's may help....

More than likely the rear end wont last too many passes, so you may be calling Stinker for a new DTS ;)

If you maintain the stock rearend with that much HP, I would go with the M&H Nolstagia Slicks and grind down a set of calipers.

You can also use them on the DTS set up with no grinding :D

At that RWHP the M&H's will work just fine.

I launched at almost 4000 rpms on the M&H 390s and they stuck like freakin glue.

My neighbor has a Paxton with 620 rwhp and CalTrac bars. They hook up great for him too. ;)

i have the AE 058's with the M&H DR's... they hook great... BTW they are for sale. have about 10 runs on them give or take a few... 600.00 plus shipping.

Is this for wheels and tires? Are the tires the 390 series or smaller?

yes both wheels and tires mounted. will even put nitro in at any specified pressure.

Are they the larger 390s? Any blemishes or stuff of the sort with the wheels? Just so I understand these will fit over the stock brakes?

will fit over stock brake calipers. rims and tires in great shape. no dings, scratches, blemishes, etc. and yes 390/40/17 M&H RaceMaster

Traction...I have never had any. Have no idea where to get any, if I had some, I would not know what to do with it.

I just smoke 'em in four gears...it keeps me in the 14's! Honest...I have never had a run that I didn't spin most of the way through one of the first three gears...

Going to see Boomer on Monday to work on getting some grip! Maybe on the Evansville Power Tour Stop I will be able to get a decent run...but to date, I have never had a good hook up...but the M&H Slicks on 16 inch wheels that are in the back of the truck, with the Stinker Rear End, Cal Tracs and JMB Spring clamps...I should be getting close...now if I could just find a driver. Can't ever find Nowwhat when you need him!

His best is a 12.6 with the Paxton and M&H 390s. He's pulling 1.7x sixty's.

These are the kind of stats that just plain confuse me.

12.6 w/Paxson & slicks with a 1.7 60'.

That really sounds reasonable to me. But I keep seeing high 12's on street tires with basically stock trucks...but I never see BS flags...

I guess that some trucks are just stronger than others, I don't doubt anything anyone says, because that is just the way I am...even after some fabricate stories I am still willing to let it pass...but I really wonder about stock trucks in the 12's. But hell, who am I to question times, claims and time sheets...I have never been in the 12's. Sure hope this doesn't ho up this thread too much.

I have a huge advantage over yall because I have a track right at sea leval. DA kills hp
