#1. Bush wants us to drill, so what does Congress do? Ignore him or chastise him as an "oil man" and Pilosi states "I'm saving the World!". Bush has gone on TV talking about how we should drill now for the sake of our nation. That we need to drill to ease the inflation due to the rising energy prices. The Democrats in control of Congress obfuscate the issue and Republicans stick around after Pilosi turns off the lights discussing that they NEED to do something.

http://www.inman.com/news/2007/12/28/congress-reluctant-act-mortgage-lending-issues "Although there's some consensus that tighter regulations or new laws governing lenders are needed, some lawmakers have been reluctant to impose restrictions that might worsen the credit crunch and the housing downturn.
In the meantime, the Federal Reserve has proposed strengthening its implementation of the Truth in Lending Act, through new regulations that would require subprime lenders to verify a borrower's ability to repay a loan after a payment reset; document income and assets; and establish escrow accounts for taxes and insurance for a minimum of one year."
It seems like it was the Democrats that wanted lenders to ease up so the 'Po' man could buy his house.
#3. The surge worked!!! Now what is it you want us to do? High-tail it out of there? Sorry, I think the majority of Americans want us to win this damn thing.
