Whoever becomes President, (Don't really care at this point) they are going to have their hands full. We can only pray they will lead us into a direction that will turn things around.

Were living in a very Historical time. Our grandchildren will learn about this in history class. Hopefully when the dust settles in the upcoming years, it will have some kind of happy ending. :dontknow:

Actually the way the text books are systematical being altered:mad: to teach a new/the new version of history ( been going on for years) I seriously believe any of our grand children will not have the opportunity to ever study history except the version that is allowed at that time:(

Yettie is a bit older than myself and he has shown me many things that were eliminated/ altered from the books I / he studied in school:eek: and the books our son studied from were changed so much from the ones I studied ,well, they read like a Fairy Tales.:(

Roy , have you not noticed the historical account in the text books are/ have been altered over time and seemingly slanted more and more away from real accounts to Politically Acceptable accounts??????

After all who is it that approves what our children study:dontknow: I know as parents we have no say in the matter and the teachers are only allowed to use books approved by the state, bought thru the state ( at ridiculous prices) and the choices are controlled by the higher ups:argh: :argh: :argh:

Very good points. Columbus went from being a great hero and explorer to a murderer. Now, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, but we've gone from one extreme to another.

Personally, I try to be very involved with my kids' educations. I try to read every single thing that they are doing in school, and if I find something that is skewed, I attempt to teach them a little of the other side of the coin.

I was disappointed that I didn't get that Parent Representative position that I put my name in for. But that's ok, as it has given me even more resolve, and I plan on running for school board next time there are elections (too late to get in this year). I probably won't win, so then I will run again hehe. If nothing else I hope that it teaches my kids to get involved.

I get most of education from talking to older folks. They lived through the depression, WW2, ...etc. No PC with them. The stories they tell of some of the hardships that they life though during those times is amazing.

Walking barefooted in the snow to school, up hill,... both ways!!!

.... Just joiking about that part.

Good way to learn...my grandmother was so poor growing up she never lived in a house or apartment till she was married at 19. its was either a car or someones barn or garage with her family. thats a learning lesson in humility, and being grateful for what you have.

My grand parent bought their house from Sears and Roe bucks catalog. Needless to say he wasn't quite the carpenter he thought he was.

My dad didn't have indoor plumbing til he joined the army in 1958. He the most tightest person you'll ever meet but He give you the shirt off your back at a drop of a dine though.

Editing history for political correctness is censorship in my mind.

Banning books is a crime against humanity.

Government monitoring of the reading material of an individual is a horrible violation of individual rights.

History needs to be portrayed objectively, that does require revision as our research uncovers more salient and accurate data, regardless of where the chips may fall.

But, it is being done

Banning books is a crime against humanity.

You right. The books are always the first thing to be destroyed.

Government monitoring of the reading material of an individual is a horrible violation of individual rights.

Maybe the gandchildern will be able to read all the books about their rights as a freeman :dontknow:

True, however it just not happening, it appears to me the "chips" are not being let to fall, but, tossed in specific directions

Not to stray off topic, but that's exactly what's happened to the Bible through the years, and through the various regimes (to make it acceptable to the sitting king). Wonder if anyone really noticed or cared how the changes manipulated the message over the years.

Ahh, the insidious human factor! We are so fallible, and so inclined to move words that support our ulterior motives...all of us.

Generally not taken into consideration...nice "reminder".

I for one will not be filling my kids head full of false praise for doing second rate work, weather that be in his school work or extra ciricular activities...america has become ONE GIANT LIE!!!

You make a very good point Jake. No longer are we looked at as the world leader. We have become the laughing stock of international circles. I have confidence that we will rise again, and I think that process can start as soon as our administration changes. We are a great country we just need to start acting like one.

You are exactly right, Roy. :)

I also beg to differ. people whom falsely believe that they are any better than the USA AND fall into the presumption that we are the laughing stock.

the fact is that ANY person would die to come to this great land of freedom and face any sacrifice with a smile on their face because this IS THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE, and it is the only place in the world that can hold that title with HONOR AND COMMITMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The norwiegins I work with are SUPER arrogant about their country. About how much better than everyone they are. Then I ask them what they have done for the world..............DO THEY FEED THE WORLDS POOR........NO.............DO THEY ENSURE FREE TRADE AND FREEDOM...................NO..............DO THEY DO ANYTHING TO BENIFIT ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES NO......................
