Allright after all the pms about our most recent GTG at panama, I guess there should be a poll for a possible next , the outcome now still may not be set in stone, alot of things determine the outcome, one being cost.

So I figure Right off the top of my head 3 choices.

One is Bradenton Fla, near Sarasota, tampa area, its one of the best 1/4 mile tracks in th SE. and close to a ton of thing to do, plus flights in are reasonable.. The beach is close as well as a ton of other activities.

Then there is Panama Fla, the people at the track were awesome, we had the run of the track and worked with us great, we basically did what we wanted, all day. plus close to the beach, accomodations were reasonable also.and plenty of beach time, down fall 1/8 mile track, but it sure didnt seem to hurt any of the competition.

then there is atlanta dragway, good 1/4 mile track, but we need to be able to have two trucks to be able to race at one time. I'm sure there is something to do in the area, especailly eat.

There is also Rockingham NC, awesome track, but ya got to travel to charlotte for anything to do, its in the middle of nowhere, or we could do the camping thing, that could be fun.

Whatever the outcome remember it will be decided by the terms of the track, we need to be able to race, we need to be able to afford the track,it has to be a saturday, so people can ride home in no hurry on sunday.

After the poll starts dying, we will take first down , call them and check on possibilities.

Eddie and I were also talking about the Nats, we may go, bbut only to see the people, we spent thousands last year only to hang out , look at cars, then eat, not much else was done. So it may jsut be a visit this year for us, probably truckless.

So think aobut it before you vote, its more about the people than the trucks, the trucks jsut get us to the people:rock:

Who knows, we may end up with two GTG's for everyone.

I'd vote for Panama again. There's plenty to do and it's all right there for those that may want to break away and do their own thing for a bit. . . Plus, I think having it in a "fixed" location adds to the aura of it. It'd be like the Indy 500 being at Bristol.

But yeah, PCB gets my vote.

Bradenton would probably be good too.

Atanta is too damn busy. Too much hustle-n-bustle.

Rockingham, like you said. It's in the sticks.

That was our thinking Roz , making it a yearly thing, with yearly winners of the track running:rock:

Plus like you say , tons for everyone to do, family to singles:D

That is also the thinking on two, some jsut want the track, and for it to be a 1/4 mile, so things arent in stone, jsut feeling them out:D

thank you good sir

Atlanta sure would be a lot closer, less expensive and a 1/4 mi. track. BUT
there is just no way it could hold a candle to PCB, the beach the track the accomodations were just AWESOME, I know all of us made many friends for life. (and I especially like the drag strip!)

have to say bradenton beaches are just as nice as panama city, especially long boat key and siesta key

PCB is my top pick, but im biased im just an hour away. Not the best track prep tho. We do have emerald coast dragway in holt florida http://www.emeraldcoastdragway.com/.

Depending on how many would be coming i can get a few rooms on base for 28-35 dollars a night. Rooms in town are less than $75, we have 98 restaurants in a 5 mile radius. Best beaches on the coast. Cheapest boats and skis are on base 100 bucks for all day. Campground with lights water sewer and cable minutes from the track. Just thought i would throw it out there.

it a 1/8 or 1/4 miles track? there has to be a 1/4 mile track down there somewhere.

After attending several GTG's . . . to attend solely because of the track experience and or the truck is just plain WRONG in MY opinion. We barely talked "shop" at all. I would be just as content sitting around the condos the entire time, or piled up on the beach watching FATJACK fly off the back of a jetski. To me, those were the funnest times. Although it was pretty fun putting a black stripe down the side of that Mineral Grey RC . . . and watching FATJACK kick everyone's ass in the bracket race.

No offense to Jack, but how long did it take for anyone to even mention the bracket race?? All anyone could talk about was the fellowship and brotherhood and the hookers and my Scrambler's trailer handle.

All that to say . . . I'm game either way. After every GTG I've attended I've made friends for life. THAT is what these GTG's are all about!

I do feel i missed out by not going to the beach with you guys. All my family was able to do was meet at the track and thats the only image i had of the whole experience. The get together part is the main idea, racing we get to do stop light to stop light on a daily basis. None of us are used to loosing but id rather loose to one of my own on the strip.

I offered ECDW because the area is cheaper, if panama was problem for anyone, this might appeal to you. The track IS better for those that got frustrated with spinning tires at the tree and smelly clutches from the overly sticky burnout box. I can offer access to many jet skis and boats at a very reasonable price, and we have accomodations (campers/tents/hotels/condos) alot cheaper than panama. ECDW opens their gates frequently to swap meets, bike fests, car shows, and clubs. They may even charge less than breakaway because of this.

do some checking into it for around september and see what you can come up with.

I'd have to give my vote for Panama again, nice condos, good food, awesome beach!

And i also need a rematch with that drag strip seeings how it kicked my ass the first go around!

pcb is my first choice, but the main thing is a place where we can get together and no one has to drive. and there's stuff to do in case the ladies get bored.
Yeah the drive to and from the track was a bummer. But I made the trip twice so it sucked twice as bad!

i voted for Bradenton not only cause it's so sticky that it'll break your rear end.....trust me i know! but also cause its 1/4 mile and close to me! Still pissed i missed the last one cause of a broken master cylinder so i'll do everything i can to make this one where ever it may be!
