A little disappointed in that the SRT-10 still has a major handling problem. I made one pass in the truck, but it was moving all around on the high end, so I parked it for the rest of the night. I will be getting poly bushings next week to see if that helps. Otherwise I will start from square one and redo the entire suspension system. I have QA1 shocks, maybe they are getting worn? I will double check their settings.
I also had a hell of a time trying to launch the Cadillac with street tires. First pass I had too low a tire pressure, bogged really bad (60' 2.246) and the car wobbled terribly at high speeds. I aired the tires back up to 31 PSI for the rest of the night. If I bog the car out of the hole the supercharger has a hard time recovering so I probably go a good 100' before it starts pulling. If I get too aggressive, I spin too much....I actually hate these Traction control vehicles....although I turned them off. I have much to learn....poor old Grampa.
Anyway here are the results:
SRT-10 : DA 1909', 60' 1.687, 1/8th mile 7.625 @ 89.48, 1/4 mile 11.918 @ 114.48 mph.
Cadillac CTS V:
Run 1, DA 1909', 60' 2.246 (bog), 1/8th 8.280 @ 93.05, 1/4 mile 12.461 @ 118.21mph.
Run 2, DA 1772', 60' 2.304 (bog), 1/8th 8.412 @ 92.22, 1/4 mile 12.615 @ 117.71 mph (slowest of the night).
Run 3, DA 1625', 60' 2.089, 1/8th 8.093 @ 93.23, 1/4 mile 12.268 @ 118.89 mph ( best corrected run of the night 12.196 @ 119.597).
Run 4, DA 1467', 60' 2.325 (spinning), 1/8th 8.417 @ 93.09, 1/4 mile 12.594 @ 118.74 mph.
Run 5, DA 1250', 60' 2.055, 1/8th 8.070 @ 93.16, 1/4 mile 12.240 @ 118.91 mph (new personal best) (corrected to 12.196 @ 119.35).
All in all , pleased with the speed of the CTS V. It smashed my SRT-10 speed record (Truck's best speed = 118.15), so 4 of the 5 passes beat the truck. Only mods are AIRAID CAI and a Tune. They are about the same weight, I think the CTS V is a little heavier (say 4250 vs 4170 for the truck). There were 3 other CTS V's at the track. 1 sedan, 1 wagon, and another coupe. All 3 of them had upper pulley changes along with CAI and tunes. The wagon was also a 6-speed manual (street tires) the sedan an automatic (drag radials) and the other coupe an automatic (street tires). The wagon ran (12.74 @ 113.8, 12.79 @ 111.70), the sedan ( 12.06 @ 113.35, 12.54 @ 113.59, 11.96 @ 114.83, and 12.04 @ 117.41), and the other coupe was the best of the night @ ( 12.01 @ 119.00 against me, and 11.84 @ 117.02). So I was happy speed wise (2nd fastest by .09 mph) and the only one with a stock pulley ( I feel I was the most consistent speed wise, consistently FAST). Oh and the other coupe has a cat-back exhaust. Enjoy the Videos over in the media section. Much thanks to Brad and Pete for the video and pictures.
