The new mod really worked...based on corrected times. Remember I said my best corrected time ever at Famoso was on May 14, 2010 at 10pm when I ran a 12.202 @ 113.25, the DA was 1753' and the run corrected to an 11.961 @ 115.588 . Well it was 95 degrees today but cooled some. I made three passes tonight....but on the first pass I missed 3rd gear:mad: and ended up with a 12.675 @ 109.36 , that was at 8 pm and the DA was 3000'. The second pass at 9pm was my best ever...but more on that one later. My 3rd run was at 10:44 pm and I ran 12.221 @ 113.70, the DA was 2629' and the corrected time was 11.84 @ 117.441 mph:D Well the second pass was near perfect with a 60' of 1.723 and a time of 12.114 @ 113.75, the DA was 2845' and it corrected to an incredible 11.702 @ 117.837mph...WOW:rock: An improvement over my best corrected pass by .259 seconds... thats huge:rock: Wait till this fall for cooler weather at Sacramento and I will have a real shot at an 11 second pass with my stock engine.

I'll bet you are all still wondering what my new Mod was. OK here goes...as you all know I try to save weight any way I can .....so I had this idea and called my Friend who owns a wrecking yard and asked him if he had any 2002-2006 Dodge Rams with good doors and roll up windows. He had a 2003 white work truck, so I made a real good deal on the doors. I had my bodyman gut them completely and install Lexan windows....I mean gut...no window crank, no door handle , no door panel, no mirror. I also got the cloth bucket seat( manual drivers side) from the truck. I posted my old race weight with my doors and power seat which was 4460 lbs. The new weight is 4290 Lbs. So theres my secret mod...the truck feels incredible... I can't wait for cooler weather. I took some pictures but you will have to wait till I get with SRTBrad because I don't know how to post pictures. Thats it!

Hey Jerry, it was good to see you last night. Congrats on your best run ( I assume that for Famoso ) I bet you will do real good at Sac. Way to go. :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

Great job jerry! Keep pushing for that 1.5-1.6 60ft and you will have yourself an uncorrected 11! Hopefully once I land a job ill be able to start driving and racing the truck again

I also removed a lot of weight by completely removing the rear metal portion of the bumper along with the tow package. I had to lift the back of the bed up to get it off. I made a bracket out of alluminum to hold the plastic bumper on right. The front bumper has those 2 brackets that are like 12x12" that the actual front metal bumper mounts to. I took those brackets and cut them down to about 1/3 of the size they were. My main concern was me having an accident and hitting a tree or a pole dead center so, I left most of the metal between the brackets in tact, but cut at least 3/4 of the front bumper off too. Again I made custom brackets out of plastic & alluminum to hold the front bumper straight. I left the lower "skid plate" on the front bumper cover on though as the bumper was just too flimsey without it. I also removed both entire fog lamp assemblies. I took the spare off too, and cut out the bracket that holds it. I am thinking about pulling off the factory 06 bed cover, and putting an 04 wing on. I also have a bedrug back there that weighs too much. I just love the way the bed cover looks, I hate to pull it off. I thought about hacking it up to get rid of some weight, but I think itll be too flimsey if I do.

What do you think about hacking up the bed? I bet if we pulled the beds off and started looking we could find some good weight loss in the entire bed assembly. Brackets and mounts. Im not hauling any refridgerators, are you?

Hey Rob...I have discussed the bed mods with my bodyman, but we didn't really think you could cut much without ruining the looks and function. I too have removed the tow bar, spare tire holder, metal in the bumpers front and rear. I have an aftermarket bedcover (fiberglass) that weighs 120 lbs and I always remove it, plus the 60 lb tailgate when I race. The factory bedliner was 45 lbs and its gone.

Way to go Jerry !
There's 2 T & T days on 11-6 & 11-7 at Famoso, but I bet you knew that all ready.
Keep up the killer times.
BTW, did you see the blue 08 Bee? He went to Sonoma last wen. night and ran a 11.48 @ like 117.
