I wanted it so bad I just couldn't pull the trigger on a stock bottom end... I went Paxton instead
 
I agree with the Paxton being safer. There isn't the initial impact with a centrifugal as there is with a roots and the intercooler will be much safer. Where is Scott at because I'm using his quote paraphrased, don't fear the boost, fear the tune.
 
A good safe tune with a paxton, will last a good while. I beat up on mine for two years, drove it to Panama Beach, raced it at the track there, drove it back, went to our local drag strip around once a month, drove it hard daily. Ended blowing the trans. Decided to do an engine build, just so I can add more power. When the engine was taken apart, the ring lands were fine. Forced induction will eventually take its toll on a stock bottom end. But if you have a safe tune, you can enjoy it for a VERY long time.
