Fstjacks "DOM" inator is alive

Sounds and how I feel.

The thing sounds really good, deep and mean, not too loud.

John I am just hanging in body wise, the trip to St Louis was hard on me.

Dom was a life saver in all the driving he did from Farmington, NM to ST Louis. He and Bridgett let me stay with them in Farmington, He also watched over me very good and helped immensly, all the way.

Donna and Marty, Justins parents were so nice to me while I was back there it was just unreal. They are the nicest people you could ever know, as is Justin.
Donna and Marty fussed over me so much that I just felt at home with them. (Well better than home, actually).

They are even lettting me keep the dually and trailer at their place so I could fly home.

The Bondurants are some of the finest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing in my entire life. Words can't really express how I feel about them. They are all quality, kind and caring people.

What I have ben shown once again is the wonder of this place and the people that make it up. It is really about the people and not the trucks at this time. My life is so much better beacuse of the pople I have had the pleasure of meeting through the Forum.

Jack,
You must feel like a proud father showing off his new born son. That is a real work of art, you done good and all them you let work on it done good.

Take care of you now, you got to get rested up so you can drive that thing!!!

Steve, thanks for the kind words.

Justin's gang did a great job.

When we get it changed out to the ProCharger it will run as good as it looks.

I am not really the most technical dude out here  :D But can you tell me the difference between a Pro charger as opposed to what you had on there already :D I know this must shock you but I really don't know :dontknow: :D

And adding to Mikey's question...why specifically do you attribute the problem to this, and how did you arrive at that conclusion?

Difference between the two is capacity. Paxton tops out at 1400cfm of airflow. Procharger moves 2700cfm (the F-2) all the way up to a whopping 4000cfm for the F-3R-139. And all boost is is a measure of resistance. FSTJACK's engine is capable of moving ~1000cfm of air at max rpm and the Paxton cannot move enough air to produce over 4psi. The Procharger at 2-3x the CFM output can easily achieve 14+psi.

Most Procharger units are self contained (no need to tap the oil supply)

I make it even easier to understand. Procharger bigger. Paxton smaller. Procharger driven with belt that not slip. Paxton driven with belt that want to slip.

Now you smart about Procharger.:D

They eliminated all possible issues of belt slippage and pressure loss. The belt system was modified, then cranked piss-tight. The entire system was pressure tested, and they even bypassed the intercooler to make sure they weren't getting excessive pressure drop across it.

What's more, the results they had were almost completely identical to mine. They peaked at 4psi around 3800 RPM, and then it levels off almost to red line. Even the peak horsepower was within a few HP of each other.

The peoblem is akin to getting a 1" tube and blowing through it, you can feel something at the other end.
Take a 6" tube and blow into it and you can hardly feel anything coming out, due to the volume of air it is capable of flowing.

The larger and more free breathing a motor is, the less boost or pressure is made at a certain CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) as in the large pipe vs the small pipe.

It takes a supercharger capable of suppling more volume of air to offset the free breathing of the free flowing motor. The motor also has more displacement (much larger bore) which takes more volume to fill.
The cyl heads are very free flowing and the intake manifold has been extrude honed to alow more air flow. The camshaft allows more volume to flow into the motor. The headers and exhaust make it more free flowing. The bottom line is we could only make 3.5-4lbs of boost. We didnit think we would make a "lot of boost", probably 8-9 lbs. With the decreased boost RWHP was just right at 650.

Eric (Ram from Hell) has a very similar set up and he had almost identical results on the dyno.

I have no idea how Blake made the #'s he said he did with out belt slip issues and overspinning the blower way past critical speed.

The Paxton Novi 2000 can make good boost on a stock Viper motor but the motor I built is too big for this blower.
A Novi 2000 is rated at 1400CFM while the F2 ProCharger is rated at 2700CFM.

As it has been said "more will be revealed"

WOW! Jack thats gotta be one of the cleanest motor mods I've seen, very well done,That truck is going to be nasty with a procharger on it!! You won't be having a lack of boost then!

Great input here...I am learning...that is what keeps me alive!

Are you starting to think of another upgrade Roy?

Jack your truck looks great. I know you all will get it working like you want it to.

Jack you are also spot on when you talk about the value of the people you have met through this site. I have never met top quality people like I have here. I can't find the words to do it justice, but the people here just blow me a way with their kindness, friendship, and knowledge.

Without a doubt, the best thing I ever did in my life was buy my truck. Because it lead me here, to meet all of you.

Bill.

I have had a couple of guys asking about the paxton so here are some pics of it.
