Thanks for all the input. Can you tow with a RC? I see the QC comes with a hitch but not the RC. I am buying one of these trucks for my company, the 'Halo' truck of the fleet if you will. People know me as the 'Viper Guy' with the GTS TT and RT/10 and looking to keep that persona with my company truck being an SRT10. So I will be putting daily miles on it and using it as a truck, not a 1/4 mile or dyno queen. Intake, headers, exhaust and tune are all that are in the cards for this one. With that being said and what I have read it looks like a 2006 QC is what I am looking for.
Originally thought a 05 or 06 RC but now that I see the 2006 is on a 2500 frame I am leaning more towards that way. Would benice to have a 6spd in the QC... but I can live with the auto. Now I knwo I am looking at sub 12MPG either way but does the 4spd Auto get far worse MPG than the 6spd? I would assume due to weight the QC gets at least 1MPG worse, but would like to hear what the local experts have to say on it. Any idea what the average MPG would be on the highway trips? Living in Texas 300 miles trips are frequent.

I have had 2ea 2005 QC,s and now have a 2006 QC, loved them all practical for what you want and tow like hell. The 2006 has more cup holders:D plus you can put a keg in the back seat:rock:

this pole is gonna be a little bit biased for the starter:D

I think 90% of viper truck owners is 05 owners:D

I vote for the 2004 because if it wasn't for the 2004 you wouldn't have 05 and 06.:D

Well, after owning mine for a year, I still love the room in the QC and I like being able to take more than two with me from time to time but there's just somethin about SHIFTING that goes with a hotrod. Need the best of both worlds!!! Might have to have the RC when I get this one paid for:rock:   One with lots of mods:D :D :D

I don't think you'd want a 6-spd in the heavier QC. But that's just my opinion.

My '05 QC gets 11.5 mpg in city driving and 14-15 highway doing 80mph. If I run 65-70mpg it will get 16+.

With the mods you suggest, you should be fine with the stock trans.
