George Ray's Drag Strip Paragould, AR

Let me tell 'ya about this place guys. It was started in a guys back yard. I was there when I was 5 and Im 48. They have 5 light bulbs for a tree, and if you arent careful youll miss em. There is no 60 ft times just a guy over the track that announces the 1/8 time which you cant hear mostly for the guys warming the tires. :motz: I'm gonna take a stop watch next time for someone to time me in case we cant hear the times. I did 3 runs. The first one the spousal unit said "I think he said 7", the second one was verified with a friend as 10.78, the last one was unhearable. I reviewed the video and you really couldnt hear it (no way). The last run was definately the best as I KNOW I got off the line well. The first one I spun tires for quite aways as you suggested. So, as my above post indicates I think my truck is whacky due to the guy cutting the muffler off. I am going to wait until I get the B&B exhaust system in before I go back.

Thanks,
Perry

I seen this place on the HorsePower TV program on SPIKE.

Talk about Old School. Damn. A narrow strip, with what looked like Chicken Wire to keep the animals off the track and spectators lining the fence with cars right behind them. Scary.

Would I race there? Yes. Would I stand down track? No F'ing way.

I've only made about 5 runs total in my stock 04 RC, but my best was a 8.90 with the avg being about 9.2. HTH

Oh yeah he is. I remember him when I was there 40+ years ago. He still has his jalopy under the same tree by the staging area...same safari hat. It's really very cool.

I ran an 8.8 pretty much stock in my QC. I did have two flowmaster 40s, though.

Last night she ran a 9.030, 9.032, 9.11, & 9.28:eek: . All the 60' times were crappy (in the 2.080-2.150 range). It was 85*

thanks
