Going back to the track...

You may think you shift exactly the same evert time but you don't, you have 3 shift that can very your time greatly. Also if you aren't getting a good cool down period between runs you are getting hotter and losign power.

I have varied from 12.7-12.9 with the same 60ft times, just a matter of smooth shifts, barking the tires is not a sighn of a smooth shift between gears.

I do agree with you Guys...no doubt that the ET can differ.

What concerns me is the trap speed.

Ive been drag racing racing just about everything that I own for nearly 20 years. Cars, trucks and bikes have all reacted typically the same. Even though my ET was all over the place, within reason of course, my trap speeds were all within lets say, .5 mph. When you start to notice 1.5 to 2mph drop offs, you either really miss shifted or HP fell off. Whether its heatsoak, ambient temps/condition changes or engine trouble.

My motor was cool and I shifted at 5500, 5700, 5700 as I always do. Who knows though. I could be doing something that Im not recognizing.

Im going to try again Friday with an 1/2 tank of gas again(if I get back in time). Im going to write down and compare the track conditions. If I start hitting the high 108's again, maybe Im right. If I dont and my MPH trap's are not consistent with this vehicle(within .5), then I have to rethink.

My goal is to get in the 12.6's with a very good 60. Im adding high flow mids shortly. Can it be done? Who knows. My last goal was to get my INTERNALLY STOCK ZZR1200 to run 10.1's. I did it. Bike spent more time at the track than on the street though. I dont think anyone on the ZZR forum has beat the 10.12 time yet. Afterwords, I got bored and sold it to buy the 5100 lb tank....:)

I forgot to mention...editing...yeah getting in the 12's is real satisfying in itself. Im still very pleased with that!

With slick 12.6 should be doable. You can run 12.7's on street tires so it should be easy. I haven't been back to the track since last fall, hoping to get their this fall and see if I can better my 12.77 now that I have a different ECM

Mopar Mudder,

You are right about the smooth shifting...

I feel that my first to second tire roast is really hurting my times. I didnt make it last Friday. I am returning this Friday and I will be ready.

Im going after the RC record, whatever it is in a NA, internally stock motor even if I detonate this truck. ;)

I just have the Bassani's and the flash. Im still waiting for my 3" high flow mids. I would be happy with a 12.70 on stock tires..hehe:D

It will be determined by my 60's and smooth shifting. We'll see this Friday. My friend with the L never showed up..damn it....

We'd love to have you in the detonated motor club, only a handfull of members. I'm hoping to get my time closer to 13 (5830 ft track elevation) with a 2 or 2.1 60'. I need to work on my launches and shifts. Better air of course will also help.

Hehe...funny....:D

What helped me to get consistant 2.0s is DON'T go thru the water box. Drive around it and only spin the tires enough to shed debri such as stones and dirt. Don't do a John Force smoke show. My tires got slick. But it does attract alot of attention:burnout: .

I launch at 2500 to 3000 depending on how well I grip that day. I just let the clutch out agressively. I do not slip nor do I dump it. When the motor tone drops, this means the clutch is out..then I floor it....

Best 60 is 1.98.

Actually, I did not see any improvement by lowering tire pressure. :dontknow:

Next time out, I go back to the low 30's.
