I was in the market for a Qaud.. so that I could ride in areas of AZ where the sand car can not go... or fit for that matter..I was going to get a Rhino or other type of Side x Side.. but decided that I really did not need that...

Well, after visiting several dealers today, I finally settled and brought home a 2006 Polaris Outlaw, with 500 CC, Independent Rear Suspension, and Fox shocks at all four corners.

This has to be the the first ATV that I have ever seen with true four wheel Independent Suspension...

I got it for $4400.00 OTD, with Tax, Title, Doc Fees, License Plates, and fully serviced. Has 4 Douglas wheels. The rest is stock.

They wanted $4999.00 plus tax, title, service, doc fees, which would have put it around $5300.00 or so... so essentially I talked them down $900.00, I tried getting them to goto $4k even.. but that was not flying...

The dealer also performed the major service on it (valve adjustment, replaced ANY parts that needed fixed, or looked worn... etc.. )

Its a Polaris Certified Used ATV, meaning that it qualified for a Diamond 2 year extended warranty w/zero deducatble, that covers EVERYTHING..even gaskets, seals, shocks, etc. The items not covered are: Brake Pads, Clutch Discs, and accidental damage (ie, if I jump it, and land on a rock and crack the engine case...etc). If its a mechanical failure, its covered.. simply put... I paid the extra for this for the peace of mind... $750.00

Yes.. I probably paid a tad more than what they are going for on Craigs list from a private party... which is around $3500-4500. But with those I would have had to had the service done, which would have been a minimum of $550.00, plus license, and AZ Inspection.

At least I know I have a good bike, fully serviced, with full warranty until 8/9/2010.

As you can see in pics the bike is really clean... no real wear marks anywhere... yes, the plastics have some minor scuff, but nothing deep, mostly from shoes... but.. what bike is not going to get that...

Very Nice!!!!!!!!!

By the title I thought you got a quad cab SRT!

Very nice ATV, thats the one I have been considering. If I end up getting another quad it will be one like yours or that new Honda 700 with the IRS!

atv

Youll love the bike if you do any jumps... It corrects alot with the IRS. Nice bike bro...

KILLER! man I love Polaris!

You probalby bought the best trail quad ever, except for the 525 outlaw.

Yeah.. the 525 is nice... basically same bike just a bigger motor made by KTM.. and I think its also EFI.. but not sure.. they had one there... but it was $1000 more than I wanted to spend...

And the lady friend of mine that I generally will go riding with has a 300EX, so I will have to tone down my riding style so she can keep up...

Please stop calling it a bike. Those of us who ride real bikes take offense. Nothing personal but most quad riders I take offense to....;)

Polaris puts together some nice equipment. Keep the oil changed and the suspension lubed and it will last a long long time. Just don't let me catch you trying to run down some single track with it....I will shoot to kill! Quads have ruined over 50 miles of single track just the past 2 yrs up and around Lake Pleasant.

Slow your roll there Chuck. I know trail etiquette to the n'th degree.

We all share the same dwindling space that the enviro whackos and anti-access groups keep trying to take more away from us.

I am the chairman, safety and awareness officer, and webmaster for American Sand Association, and donate hundreds if not thousands of hours to keeping the public lands open to the public.

I also particpate in most AZ Game and Fish, and western region BLM open meetings, and comment sessions.

Those that try to horde land use to themselves, are not helping the cause...they are hurting it.

If you want to say your part, and keep these lands open, join us so we get to politicians as one unit, and one voice, and not a bunch of "separatists" all yelling and screaming different opinions...

Its happened before, and will happen again, when they get too much from to many different places, they just shut down, and make irational decisions and we all lose.

It was more tongue in cheek. If youre on this board you can't be TOO bad. ;) Seriously, thanks for your time in these matters. I'm with OCMC. Race AMRA and work with several off road groups regarding the full on attack we are getting here in AZ.

The last 30 days I've been dealing with City of Scottdale and State Trust over the closure of Granite Mtn area (my backyard). Three of us spent 2 days at City of Scottsdale before the Mayor agreed to meet with us. They (environmentalist and city of Scottsdale) are using the Dust Control Measure to spear head many many closings surrounding Phx. Scottsdale has paid off the developers to not go after the Granite Mtn area so Scottsdale can raise the money and turn it into an offlimits perserve. With the developers out of the way they are counting on the remaining folks who use this area to not put up a fight.

We hired a Lobbyist early last year ($20K :( ) and he's done well for us but its been a real battle lately. My offroad club has a National Event in Oct. We are already permitted but several officials have tried to pull them blaming how hot a topic this has become. Ourvery own Phx paper is not making it any better with the recent articles....painted all of us offroaders as scum of the earth.

I feel like Im in the Twight Light Zone....its Nor California cir: 1988 Within 2-3yrs we lost nearly all our off road areas.

Might be time to move again.....New Mex and Colorado

I have allways thought this whole dust thing is nothing but a but coverup for their real agenda. Its the desert, and dust is a part of it....period.
