Shellie and I went to see the new Clint Eastwood movie last night. Other than a LOT of 'F' bombs and a few GD'S it was a great movie. The theatre was full and I think we were one of the younger couples in there :D

Looks like a killer movie David. I haven't been to a theater in a lot of years, unless it's a kids movie hehehe, but I would like to see that one, the Nixon one, and Valkyrie.

I will be going to see that...loved the old Dirty Harry Movies........and I owned a green 1972 Gran Torino Sport just like the one in the movie...even had the stripe..bought it new for $3800...351 CJ......was a POS by todays standards but I would luv to have a refurbished one now..:marchmellow:

It really is an awesome movie. Be prepared for a lot of racist epithets, but they really are an integral part of the movie in order to understand the character. You all should definately see it. It also has some wicked funny parts too.

Clint Eastwood is a total liberal sellout. I could not believe how a once major right winger has been corrupted by the Hollywood liberals. Beginning was great. Right until he started with becoming friends with the neighbors. Totally unrealistic IMHO. I know it got good reviews but it was so sterotypical. Chinese driving the ricer, Hispanics in a old impala low rider.

Give me Unforgiven any day over this crap. This is nothing against those who liked it. I respect everyone's opinions. To me this is not a accurate telling of a man with that much of a hatred.

You see this alot in some parts LA, so dont seem that far off to me

Clint Eastwood keeps the term "G Dammit" in the very top of his verbal toolbox...

It usually comes at the very end of a sentence....

I will see this flick eventually. Eastwood plays a very believable badass....

I thought Gran Torino was a great movie too.

I also saw Valkyrie last week and was not impressed.:dontknow:

Babyface Tom Cruise portaying a Nazi pirate is about as believeable as PeeWee Herman playing Hamlet.

Eastwood acts like a badass but falls very short in this movie. Ends up a martyr. Is that what we want for a Eastwood movie? Maybe someone else playing the part but Eastwood? He should stick to his guns, and use them, not his fingers or a lighter. And I do get the symbolism of the film. I just find the changes to the character extrememly unbelievable. He becomes too friendly, too fast to the girl and the boy. And why he even cares based on his upbringing disturbed me.

I think it grossed like 29 million in its first week out. Most he has ever made on an opening weekend. He is 78 years old in real life, maybe he is trying to show that people and their attitudes about life can change.
