I will be getting a magnaflow exhaust soon, this week. I am thinking about my next modified will be mid-pipes.

I am thinking about hi-flow mid-pipes from x-metal but i am not sure what kind it is . Is it a belanger or what? Which will fit my magnaflow exhaust and stock header.

OR THAT

OR THAT

http://jmbperformance.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=66_94&products_id=273

ALSO is it legal to have cat-less in MA? OR is it illegal?

the first two you listed were meant to bolt up to bellangers & b&b long tube headers, the third will work with your stock manifolds.....
both the x-metal & the b&b mids also make mids for stock exhaust manifolds.........
:D

as far as legal ?? it's only illegal if you're caught........:D :D :D

both x-metal & jmb make catless mids for your application........ the b&b may need some modification..... of course you'll need sims to avoid the dreaded "cel".....

That is a problem because I dont want the CEL to come on so I am guessing a mid-pipes with cats are only choice i can go with. I notice that x-metal's belanger hi-flow mid-pipes with cats said it can fit with an aftermarket cat-back?

Your aftermarket CATBACK is the same as stock at the inlet point. It is 2 1/2" at the inlet. I have the JMB catless mids. I also have the QC extensions. I ordered mine to be true 3" pipes. I also had the reducer removed from my catback. The mechanical sims that came with my mid pipes have worked fine for the last month or so. I bet the X-metal mids can be ordered with the same features. Since you have a RC, you do not have to worry about the extension pipes.

if you decide to go catless mids, you will need sims (either mechanical or electrical) for the 2 rear o2 sensors....... electrical are more expensive (see roe site) & mechanical ones (which i'm doing on my b&b complete exhaust) can be done cheaper yet if you do it yourself..... see the 2 attached links :

Tyler, my mids are catless, bolt to the stock manifolds and your magnaflow catback, and come with 02 sims (No CEL's). They are also mandrel bent and high temp coated.

Justin whats the price on these pipes.:dontknow:

Justin, do you have the mid-pipes with cats? I believe that it is illegal to have cat-less in MA.

It's illegal to go cat-less everywhere in the US, it's a federal law!! On newer vehicles they just plug in a diagnostic computer into your OBII vehicle diagnosic port (I think thats whats its called) and you'll pass as long as your CEL isn't on. You wont get a CEL with the O2 Sims as they trick the computer into thinking their is cats. They do however use a mirror to look for your cats under the truck. I'm gonna clamp some fake dummy cats over the pipes to make it look like I have cats come emission time! Maybe I'll cut a coffee can in half then make a hole on either end so the can will go over the mid pipes. Then I'll just paint the can using a little creativity to make it look rusted. I'm sure they'll be fooled!!

I can make them with high flow cats, but it will be more expensive.

How much will it cost me? I am still thinking which I should go with cats or cat-less. I really think the price of cat-less is a great deal. I will thinking about it. I will let you know.

Hmm...maybe I can get the cat-less mid-pipes then I can remove the stock cats. I can cut them in half and spray paint into silver and clamp over the pipes to make it looks like it have the cats. What do you think? :dontknow:

Tyler you need to be careful since they check for smog in your state. If you do go catless your truck will be much louder and the inspectors may give it a closer look. You should find out via your friends or via some speed shops how tough your inspections are before taking off the cats.

Hmm..I will trying make some calls. If I couldn't find any local inspections that will let it go with the cat-less issue then maybe i can get the cat-less but install the stock mid-pipes each time when the inspections are come up?

PS. excuse my grammar..I am trying my best.

that's the issue i struggled with on my truck..... the swapping out of the catless mids @ inspection time...... unfortunately, mids that bolt up to the stock exhaust manifolds, don't come in/out very easy..... that why i'm opting for a complete b&b exhaust, because of the long tube headers (shorter mids) & more importantly flanged !!!! see link (expensive way to go):
