Hello,

After washing the engine off at the car wash or even washing the bugs out of the rad and avoiding getting the engine bay are wet, the truck idles at 1000+ r.p.m. until "whatever it is that gets wet" dries out and the idle drops back to 750 or normal.

Does anyone know specifically what is getting wet and causing the high idle?

Thanks;

Ron

I would think the IAC motor or TPS. more than likely the IAC because that is what adjust your throttle blade at idle

Ok thanks,

It isn't tripping codes or anything and it use to be infrequent but now it is EVERY time I lift the hood to wash anything. Kind of a pain in traffic with the auto...
