Hagerty Insurance recently released its list of 10 cars that will be considered collectible in the future. It includes such trendy cars as the Scion and the Audi TT. The closest thing to a truck is the FJ Cruiser; everything else is purely for the street. We already know there are classic trucks -- you'd have to pay a pretty penny to buy a stock 1966-1977 Bronco, any FJ40, or a mid-1950s F-100 -- and there will be plenty more to come. Here are a few trucks and SUVs that were sold in the U.S. within the last 10-15 years that I think will become more valuable over time. What trucks would you include on this list?

In no particular order:

1. Ford Lightning
Its great combination of power and relatively small size make this one of the fastest trucks around.






2. Dodge Ram SRT10
Dodge matched the awesome power of the Viper's V-10 engine with the function and brawn of the Ram.




3. Land Rover Defender 90/110
This old-school off-roader is the best representation of Land Rover's roots. It wasn't sold here for that many years, making this a hard-to-find gem.




4. Any Harley-Davidson F-Series
Whether it's the F-150 or Super Duty, any truck with the H-D package will likely have a loyal following for many years.




5. Silverado SS
Chevrolet's short-lived street machine gave Bow-Tie fans power and comfort in a sleek package.




6. Chevrolet SSR
Retro-rod truck styling makes this a true standout on the road. An instant classic and great weekend cruiser.

7. Isuzu VehiCROSS
Don't laugh—this unusual sport/utility has a small but loyal following, which might be enough to make VehiCROSS prices rise as time goes on.




8. International CXT/MXT/RXT
Not that many of these ultracool trucks are produced each year, yet they are dream machines for many truck lovers.




9. Hummer H1/AM General Hummer
Whether it's the AM General Hummer or GM's Hummer H1, this military-grade vehicle has no equal. Once it's gone, there may never be another vehicle like it.




10. Mercedes-Benz G-Class/G-Wagen
Another throwback, this model is nearing the end of its 30-year run. For many years, this Mercedes was available in the U.S. only through a single importer, until M-B started selling it nationwide. Its bricklike shape and tough demeanor are shining examples of what an SUV used to be.

Take a trip over to the Lightning forums, they are having the same troubles with value that we are!

On a good note, gas is $2.37 for regular here!!

I don't really plan on mine being worth anything for a while.
I already learned my lesson, I have a 1982 Delorean DMC-12 that we bought BRAND NEW sitting in the shed with a grand total of 437 miles on it, and today (26 years later) it is now worth.............about what the sticker price was!

Imagine what a measly 5% return on an investment would be worth today....

Oh well, you can't drive a CD I always say!!!
