Homemade Smoke Lenses

Well I am disappointed...it rained all day so I couldn't do the tails. Anyone heard of doing the headlights this way??? Thought I might complete the look. I think I like clear lenses and black insides better though. That way I can do HID's. Whatcha think???

Carl, I thought you did your whole truck in this stuff!!! Did you do your headlights???
   Nope, just a little time and some tastefully done stealth modifications including areas most people over look all contribute to The Batrams black appearance. It's one thing making a vehicle black, it's another story doing it right. :D The head lights are just covers. GT Styling covers aka GTS. I like to know I can remove them and have 100% light again so tinting (IMO) is not the way to go unless it's a show truck that doesn't get driven. I did tint the spot lights though with 20% window tint. My rear tail lights are smoked LED Recons with around 12+ coats of VHT and the reverse space got around 2 coats.

Carl, is that what you did to your headlights???
See above. :)

Cheers,
Carl

I had my tails and 3rd brake light done by professionals. I would no do the head lights because of the dimished lighting. But that is just me, of course you do what makes you happy.

Bill.

I'm goin to tint my headlights like redram10 has his done they look realy good,I don't drive mine in the dark, just around in the city ounce in awhile, lots of street lights.

By all means do what makes you happy. I have a different plan for my headlights, but I'm not going to say anything until they are done.

Bill.

Just curious thats all. I use mine as my DD so I will stick with my plan of replacing the headlights and doing a hid conversion. Anyway thanks for the advice. Begood, sure you don't wanna spill the beans????:D :D

Before you go to the time and expense of HID's you might poll the folks who have tried it before you. Some have gone back to something else or stock. The lighting isn't what they expected.

Oh really??? that is an interesting thought. I think once I get closer to doing that I will take your advice. I will not paint my stockers for now just the rear. There was someone at the GTG in Macon that had them. Do you remember who?

Dave/Bone, so did Anthony/Venom Power I believe. :)

I really like the way the tinted lights look... Alot brighter than I imagined. Very nice.

1fast10 It was alot brighter then what I thought. The bottle said don't do more than 3 coats. Hell I did way more than that and it is still really bright.

here are my tails

I just bought a set of 6000k HID's from a vendor on another forum. WAY cheaper than ones I have seen here. As far as the lighting is concerned, Ive been kicking myself for not doing it sooner. The amount of light these kits throw out is amazing. Few of my friends seen my truck with the lights and made me order them kits from the same vendor.

Oh, and it is a real plug and play system, no adding capacitors here or there. It comes with everything and no lamp out warning yet.

I think what everyone is talking about is the HID halo complete headlights, not the HID kit that improves the stock headlights,I could be wrong though:dontknow:
